Rising Country Artist Shaboozey Seemingly Shoots His Shot At Latto, Public Reacts: ‘This Is A Taken Lady’

Earlier today (Apr. 8), an X account appearing to belong to rising country artist Shaboozey, born Collins Chibueze, took a moment to send a simple greeting Latto’s way. In the post, 28-year-old Shaboozey purportedly wrote “Hiii [waving hand emoji]” above an image of the Atlanta rapper. Even though the post was innocent enough, many people took the upload as Shaboozey letting the world know he’s interested in getting to know Latto on a more personal level. For those who may be unaware, Shaboozey is one of the up-and-coming Black music artists featured on Beyoncé’s newly released album, “??Cowboy Carter.” In addition to his own music, you can hear him on Beyoncé tracks “Spaghettii” and “Sweet / Honey / Buckiin’.”

Within minutes of posting the message to the “Sunday Service” artist, the replies were filled with people informing Shaboozey that Latto, real name Alyssa Stephens, is already in a relationship. Responding to one internet user who noted the 25-year-old hasn’t been single “for a minute,” the Shaboozey account questioned,

“Why they ain’t never post each other???”

Responding to another fan who noted the way he attempted to get Latto’s attention, the account added,

“It’s gon work. Trust [skull emoji]” 

Even though Latto has been very vocal over the years about being in a committed relationship, she has yet to confirm exactly who she is dating. However, it’s widely speculated that her boyfriend is 31-year-old rapper 21 Savage, real name Shéyaa Abraham-Joseph.

Shaboozey ended his attempt at romance with Latto by promoting his upcoming single “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” He reportedly wrote,

“Y’all stop being messy, and pre-save this song! “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” love you.”

It’s important to note that, similar to many celebrities, Shaboozey may not be the person running his (alleged) X account.
