The success of Maroon 5 is a direct result of the contributions made by each of its members.

Maroon 5 has been making hits since 2001 and have truly made a name for themselves in the music industry. Much of their success is hinged on the popularity of their frontman, Adam Levine, who has garnered worldwide attention for his involvement in the band, as well as other very high profile personal and business choices. Married to supermodel Behati Prinsloo and being a longtime judge on the panel of the hit show The Voice has meant that Adam Levine takes the spotlight more often than not.

However, the success of Maroon 5 is a direct result of the contributions made by each of its members. With Adam Levine on the mic, Jesse Carmichael on the keyboard, James Valentine on the lead guitar, Matt Flynn on drums, and PJ Morton on the keyboard, and Mickey Madden as the former bassist, the band has seen international acclaim. The diversity of the band’s members makes the group even more attractive to fans and followers.

10Mickey Madden Is A Vegan

If you’re wondering what the band’s tour ride looks like, we can tell you one thing for sure, Mickey Madden will need some vegan options. Opting to be kind to all animal life and dedicated to fostering a healthier approach when it comes to his diet, Mickey Madden is the resident vegan of the bunch and takes his dietary choices very seriously.

9James Valentine Was Raised As A Mormon

When fans imagine their favorite rock stars, they typically imagine wild parties and a whole lot of uncensored, unadulterated fun. Most don’t imagine rock stars to be incredibly religious, but James Valentine definitely is. He was born into a Mormon family and has continued to maintain his deep ties to his faith and to the church.

8Adam Levine Is A Yoga Pro

Adam Levine is heavily tattooed and has kept himself in impeccable physical shape. He doesn’t just work out at the gym to achieve his look, he also happens to be passionate about Yoga. He engages in some personal time to challenge his body and mind through yoga each day and thrives from the experience. He has spoken about yoga as being a deeply rewarding aspect of his life that truly brings him peace and balance.

7Ryan Dusick Was Too Injured To Stay On

Ryan Dusick was the drummer for Maroon 5 from 1994 until 2005, at which time an injury stifled his ability to play. The effects of constant touring and repetitive movements caused severe tendinitis in his wrist as well as his shoulder, and he continued to suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome. Dusick reported that his injuries had led to nerve damage, as well.

6Mickey Madden’s Criminal Charges Forced A Leave

Mickey Madden excused himself from the band for a very different reason. Long-time member and good friend to Levine, Madden faced legal challenges that required his immediate attention. He was not married, but he was arrested on charges of domestic violence. The identity of the victim was not revealed, but sources report the injuries sustained by the victim were “traumatic.”

Realizing that his attention would be focused elsewhere, he reluctantly but necessarily stepped away from the band.

5Madden Was The Only Remaining Founding Member

The crushing reality of Madden’s departure weighed heavily on Levine, as he was the last remaining founding member of the team. Levine and Madden had begun the band with Jesse Carmichael, who left in 2012 for personal reasons, when they were in junior high school and they had all maintained a very close bond. Ryan joined and they named their band Kara’s Flowers. When James Valentine joined, the band changed their name to Maroon 5.

4Adam Levine Is Ambidextrous

Most fans are unaware of the fact that aside from his very obvious talents, Adam Levine has a very interesting, unique one too. Levine happens to be among the 1 percent of the population who is truly ambidextrous. He has the ability to use his right and left hands equally without having a dominant hand, the way most people do. He has been known to write with his left hand but uses his right hand for playing the guitar.

3PJ Morton Is Rooted In Gospel Music

PJ Morton was raised as a devout Christian and brought up with the deep influence of the church. His musical talents stemmed from his father’s passion for gospel music. His dad lent his talents to the church as a gospel singer, while Morton’s mother was a pastor at a Baptist church. Surrounded by the sounds and teachings of gospel hymns, Morton went on to write for gospel artists and continues to do in his personal time. Sources reveal that he has written for Fred Hammond and Heather Headley, and he released his full-length gospel album Gospel According to PJ, in 2020.

2Sam Farrar Became A Member By Accident

Unlike the other band members who had personal ties to one another well before the band was formed, Sam Farrar’s addition to the group seemed to be more organic and accidental. He first entered the scene as the utilities man who offered repair and tech assistant. He became a valuable resource while they were on tour, and it was soon revealed that he was skilled at playing a variety of different instruments. In 2016, he became an official member of Maroon 5.

1Jesse Carmichael Is All About The Environment

Jesse Carmichael may spend the majority of his life under the bright lights of the stage and on tour with his band mates, but he uses his personal time very differently. This talented and famous musician happens to be a huge advocate for the environment. He is passionate about putting an end to the use of plastic and lends his time towards environmental and climate awareness. He uses his influence to make a positive impact on environmental change.
