Whoopi Goldberg has a bone to pick with The View’s Hot Topics selection committee.

On Wednesday morning, the co-hosts were tasked with discussing the drama surrounding Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, who was accused of cheating on his wife, Behati Prinsloo, with Instagram model Sumner Stroh. In a statement issued Tuesday, Levine said he “did not have an affair,” but admitted he “crossed the line” by sending “inappropriate” messages to Stroh.

“Whatever,” said Joy Behar, after Whoopi explained the situation to viewers at home. The co-hosts seemed to agree with that sentiment, though Whoopi stuck to her script, asking the panel, “Does an online relationship count as cheating?”

When Sara Haines answered in the affirmative, Whoopi seemed delighted to move on. “Okay, next item,” she said, earning a round of applause from the audience.

“It’s cheating, okay, but why go on Instagram or social media and put all of that stuff out?” asked Sunny Hostin.

“I don’t know. That’s why I don’t even want to talk about it,” replied Whoopi. “I don’t know who it is. I don’t know why we gotta talk about this chick and bring all of his business in there.”

“Call him! Why do we have to participate?” continued the longtime moderator. “Why is The View participating? That’s what I want to know.”

After Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out that because many Instagram models build their career “around fame and celebrity,” famous men should expect them to “immediately turn around and put it out there,” Behar got in another shot at the show: “Do they think they’re not going to be featured on The View?” she asked.

The ladies seemed to agree that Levine’s behavior is “emotional cheating,” but a few minutes later, Behar asked the question that probably should have been raised minutes prior. “I have a question,” she said. “Who is Adam Levine?”
