It’s hard to believe that it’s been over a year since an Instagram model blew up married Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine’s spot with affair accusations and more precious screenshots of his incredibly cringey flirty DMs to other women came out of the woodwork. Man, what a fun week that was. Anyway, he and his wife Behati Prinsloo are apparently still together, and Maroon 5 is apparently still doing stuff too — including having a Las Vegas residency, which has, in turn, radicalized Levine into a Chuck E. Cheese apologist.

The artist opened up about the integral change in his internal belief system on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! when the host asked if he had brought his three kids with Prinsloo to Vegas during the run of shows. Levine had indeed, and went on to point out that there are not many child-friendly attractions in the city — safe for, you guessed it, one of the many carpeted homes of our animatronic mouse friend, Chuck E. Cheese.

“I hadn’t been in a long time, so what I used to think of that place, remembering it, was a bit horrifying. It’s not a place I have fond memories of, really,” the musician admitted. “It was kinda sketchy and you could like, hear the animatronic, like, things moving.”

“However, they’ve kind of like, rebranded Chuck E. Cheese a little bit,” he continued, adding, “It’s pretty good.” Levine explained that they let him and his kicks come early in the morning, before the establishment was open to the public. “We came in, we all played video games for an hour and a half, and then ate their pizza, which is better than it used to be. It used to be disgusting; it’s actually pretty good,” he said, claiming that the silent studio audience was agreeing with him.

Levine went on, “It’s changed. And they don’t have like, the scary robots anymore. They have a new show that’s like, on a screen, so it’s not nearly as creepy as it used to be. He then clarified that he (allegedly) didn’t “love” Chuck E. Cheese: “I’m not this big Chuck E. Cheese guy,” the Maroon 5 frontman said (lying), “but I was surprised at how well they did with the rebrand.”
