Navarro questioned the crew’s decision to play music over Harris’ comments about abortion and medical care for miscarriages.

Ana Navarro calls it like she sees it — or, in this case, hears it — on The View.

The political commentator scolded the talk show’s crew live on the air at the tail end of the program’s high-profile interview with Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday, taking issue with the staff for essentially playing Harris off with the show’s theme music as she attempted to make a point about access to medical care for pregnancy complications.

“Doctors are so afraid that they might be jailed because in places like Texas, a doctor can go to prison, women are developing sepsis, and it’s only then that they’re being treated in an emergency room,” Harris said, while music began playing in the studio before she finished her sentence. “It’s a real issue, it’s one of the biggest issues in this election. Everyone has a role to play.”

When Harris concluded, Navarro spoke out against the technical move.

“Are you playing music over the Vice President of the United States?” she asked, before the camera cut to moderator Whoopi Goldberg, who made a slight motion toward Navarro before throwing the show to commercial.

“Our thanks to the Vice President,” she said. “We will be right back.”

This isn’t the first time Navarro has called out the show’s staff on the air. In November, Navarro paused a segment about The Golden Bachelor to ask producer Brian Teta about including the show in Hot Topics segments.

“I have one golden question. Brian, when is this show, The Golden Bachelor, over, so I no longer have to talk about it on Fridays?” Navarro said. The camera then cut to Teta, who replied, “We have a few more weeks, but, I think we’ll do a couple of extra shows, just for you.”

Harris also previously visited The View in 2021 for a chaotic episode that saw Navarro and panelist Sunny Hostin escorted off set after, at the time, it was reported that they’d tested positive for COVID. Hostin later revealed that they were false positives.

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
