Not everyone is cut out for the Oklahoma lifestyle.

Apparently Adam Levine had a tough time keeping up with Blake Shelton and the rest of his Oklahoma crew.

Shelton, 47, recently shared some insight into the last time Levine, 44, visited him on his ranch in Oklahoma, and from the sound of it, they had one heck of a time.

While talking to Entertainment Tonight about some of his most memorable New Year’s Eve experiences, the country crooner couldn’t help but think about his fellow former judge on The Voice. who visited him for the first and last time several years ago.

“I’m trying to remember the year but Adam Levine actually came and stayed with me in Oklahoma, the one and only time he ever came and stayed with me at my house in Oklahoma,” the “God’s Country” singer explained.

“It was New Year’s Eve, maybe like the second or third season of The Voice. He came and stayed,” he said before recalling, “The things that we did to him.”

“Have you ever seen the movie Deliverance?” he teased. “You should watch it. Well, he hasn’t been back.”

For those who haven’t seen Deliverance, the 1972 thriller follows the story of some city-lovers who decide to getaway for a peaceful weekend in rural Georgia. But some of the locals aren’t so welcoming, and well, let’s just say it doesn’t go so well for the main characters (played by Burt ReynoldsJon VoightNed Beatty and Ronny Cox), who are forced to fight for their lives if they want to make it back to the city alive.

We’re not exactly sure what went down during Shelton and Levine’s NYE together, but judging by the Deliverance reference, it couldn’t have been so easy for Levine. It’s safe to say the Maroon 5 frontman, born in Los Angeles, is probably more comfortable sticking to his city roots.

But the same can’t be said for Shelton’s wife Gwen Stefani, an Orange County native who appears to be settling into rural life pretty well ever since marrying the born-and-bred country star in 2021.
