The 19-year-old daughter of Michael Strahan describes her fight with brain cancer

Isabella, the 19-year-old daughter of Michael Strahan, revealed that she received a diagnosis of medulloblastoma, a malignant paediatric brain tumour, in late October.

Isabella Strahan is sharing details of a devastating medical diagnosis.

Along with her father on January 11, she said to ABC News’s Robin Roberts, “I didn’t notice anything was off until probably like Oct. 1.” “That’s when I definitely noticed headaches, nausea, couldn’t walk straight.”

Later that month, despite Isabella’s assumption that she had vertigo, her health took an even more unexpected turn.

One afternoon, Isabella remembered, “I was throwing up blood.” “I thought, ‘This probably isn’t going well.’” I then texted [my sister], who informed the rest of the family.”

And when her problems persisted, her father Michael demanded that more research be done on her health.

“That was when we decided, ‘You need to really go get a thorough checkup,’” a “Good Morning America” presenter said. “And thank goodness for the doctor. I believe that since this doctor was thorough enough to say, “Let’s do the full checkup,” she saved her life.

Isabella received a call that would change her life after finishing an MRI.

“She calls me and she’s like, ‘You need to head to Cedars-Sinai [Medical Centre] right now,’” she recounted of her physician. “I’m gonna meet you there.’”

After stepping aside from his hosting responsibilities in November, Michael revealed that he found out about his daughter’s diagnosis earlier and that “it didn’t feel real.”

He said, “I don’t really remember much.” “All I can recall is attempting to find the quickest route to Los Angeles. Furthermore, it doesn’t feel genuine.”

The former athlete continued by explaining that Isabella’s type of tumour is uncommon in people her age. Isabella and her twin sister Sophia are shared with her ex-boyfriend Jean Muggli.

“But it’s still scary because it’s still so much to go through,” he said. “And the hardest thing to get over is to think that she has to go through this herself.”

Isabella shared that she had just finished radiation therapy when she had an emergency surgery to remove the lump in late October.

She remarked, “I got to ring the bell yesterday.” “It was excellent. It was really thrilling because the thirty sessions spanned six weeks.”

Isabella clarified, though, that she is still undergoing treatment and will begin chemotherapy the next month.

She said, “That’s my next step.” “I’m ready for it to start and be one day closer to being over.”

Isabella is excited about her future even as she works towards her recovery. “I’m looking forward to getting back to college and moving back to California and just starting my school experience over,” she stated. “Not finished, but simply getting back into a pattern and something that’s enjoyable.

Michael has also gained insight from the process regarding their family.

“I literally think that in a lot of ways, I’m the luckiest man in the world because I’ve got an amazing daughter,” he said. “I know she’s going through it, but I know that we’re never given more than we can handle and that she is going to crush this.”
