When the (potential, alleged) voice of God isn’t clapping through The View studio to assist Whoopi Goldberg’s consciousness, the show’s in-studio audience is there to pick up the slack.

As the EGOT-winning Ghost actress closed out a Hot Topics discussion about Tuesday morning’s Oscar nominations, she attempted to throw the show to a commercial break by telling viewers when they could watch the 96th Academy Awards — except the information wasn’t readily available on her cue cards.

“I know it’s coming on some time in March, the Oscars, but I don’t have the date in the thing,” the 68-year-old said, turning toward producer Brian Teta, who replied, “It’s in March. We’ll get it for you. It’s a Sunday!”

Goldberg turned back to the camera before repeating, “It’s a Sunday in March! At some point we’ll let you know when it is,” before an excited group of audience members seemingly caught her attention.

“You know when it is?” she asked, pointing into the crowd at a woman who yelled out the ceremony date. “March 10! There you go!”

Sunny Hostin extended her gratitude, responding, “Thank you, audience member!” before the show took a break.

Elsewhere on the show, the table praised the Oscars for nominating movies like Oppenheimer and Barbie for Best Picture, though Alyssa Farah Griffin was “bummed” that director Greta Gerwig was snubbed in the Best Director category — an oversight the Republican panelist indicated to her that the “message of the film was sort of missed” by the Academy.
