The View hosts horrified by sex nicknames: ‘Daddy doesn’t have the same ring to it’

“Mommy’s not a good one either!” Whoopi Goldberg interjected.

The ladies of The View want everyone to know that what happens while you’re having sex should stay there.

The Hot Topics table was brimming with hilarious conversation on Thursday as the panelists discussed a recent New York Post article where intimacy coach Holly Robinson outlined the seven biggest mistakes people can make after having sex, including being negative, checking your phone, and mentioning an ex.

“Also on the list is no more naughty names,” Sunny Hostin read aloud. “Once sex has ceased, stop addressing your partner with the potentially derogatory terms.”

“I mean, I believe that,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said. “Daddy doesn’t have the same ring to it after.”

The rest of the table had an immediate visceral reacted to Griffin’s comment, with Hostin bursting into laughter as Whoopi Goldberg and Sara Haines covered their faces with their hands in both humor and horror. A laughing Joy Behar, who admitted earlier in the conversation to once calling someone the wrong name during sex, added, “Who’s your Daddy?”

“Or Mommy!” Goldberg interjected. “Mommy’s not a good one either!”

“Why are people talking so much?” Hostin asked. “Just say, ‘thank you’ and ‘goodnight.’”

Goldberg explained that she has a different view on the subject than her costars, who are all married. “I’m the only one who can say goodnight because I’m ushering them out the door,” she said. “Y’all are in there for the duration, so you have to be careful what you do!”

However, they agreed that all parties involved shouldn’t ask each another any questions about their performance in the aftermath either. “Why isn’t that on the list?” Goldberg asked. “Don’t ask, don’t tell.”

Haines also admitted that she has fallen prey to two of the list’s grievances — asking a partner about household chores and checking her phone — in the past. “What happens is, when I recover, I think of all the things we still have to do,” she explained. “I stop and I say, ‘Babe, did the plumber call today?’”

While she acknowledged that she should “wait a little longer” before bringing up their to-do list, the host noted that it’s also one of the few times she and her partner are in the same room and can check in with each other. “I may not get to see him again! We have three kids, we run in opposite directions,” she said. “He got what he wanted, I’m gonna get what I wanted: ‘Did the plumber call!’”

“What if he says, ‘No, I’m right here,’” Goldberg joked, to which Haines replied, “Well, then we go for round two, Whoopi!”

“And that’s how you get two in one,” Goldberg declared. “We’ll be right back!”
