The Star Trek star captioned the post, “I still remember the day Whoopi Goldberg walked onto the set of Star Trek: The Next Generation. We were thrilled and felt so lucky to have her there. The feeling was the exact same when she joined us this season.”

Tyler Perry could not wait to cast Whoopi Goldberg in the hit comedy Nobody’s Fool. Appearing alongside Goldberg on Good Morning America, the comedian and filmmaker confessed that he was honored when Goldberg obliged to appear in the film. “I was writing the mother role and I thought, ‘Oh, if she would do this I would be so honored.’ I called and when she said ‘yes,’ we were all like, ‘Oh my God. She is coming.'”

Tyler Perry also disclosed that he hoped that casting Whoopi in the film would “remind all the people how great and funny she is on film, I’m hoping that everything just reignites for her again. Because Whoopi is amazing and she’s wonderful.”
