The Voice Season 22 returned to NBC on Monday night (September 19). One familiar face returned to the show. Gwen Stefani made her big return after she went on a two-year hiatus. She returned alongside Blake Shelton and John Legend. Gwen replaced Kelly Clarkson, who stepped away from the show this year.

Meanwhile, Camila Cabello is the new coach who’s filling in for former newbie Ariana Grande. The competition show looks a lot different from the beginning.

In the first season, Blake was a coach alongside Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, and Adam Levine. The show has made several changes with coaches since then. The Maroon 5 frontman is making headlines once again and fans are curious to know why he walked away from this hot gig.

Adam Levine breaks silence on Instagram

On Monday, September 19, an Instagram model came forward with her story about Adam Levine on TikTok. The Voice fans had a meltdown when she alleged she had an affair with the singer while he was married to supermodel Behati Prinsloo. Sumner Stroh even shared screenshots of their alleged conversations in her viral video.

Adam Levine slid into her DMs. The 23-year-old apologized to the former Victoria’s Secret Angel. She claims that she was “exploited” and a “victim.” Sumner said she didn’t “fully realize” the situation at the time.

“I’m not getting hurt in this. It’s Behati in her children,” Sumner said in her TikTok video. “And for that, I’m so, so, sorry.”

Behati shares daughters Dusty, 5, and Gio, 4, with Adam Levine. The Voice alum took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday, September 20 to break his silence. He denied the affair claims. However, Adam stated that he “crossed the line” and he had taken “full responsibility” for his actions.

“I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner,” Adam wrote in his Instagram Story. “In certain instances it became inappropriate; I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.”

He wants to focus on his wife and their family. The musician assured The Voice fans that he “will never do this again.” In the meantime, more young women have come forward on TikTok. This controversy comes five days after Behati announced on Instagram that she’s pregnant with their third child.

Why did Adam Levine leave The Voice?

In 2019, Adam Levine previously shocked fans when he announced he was leaving the show. He announced his departure from The Voice on Instagram. The “She Will Be Loved” singer shared a statement on Instagram that had everyone buzzing.

“I am truly honored to have been a part of something I’ll always cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you to every single coach I ever sat in those chairs with,” Adam wrote. “That is a shared experience that is singularly ours. We have that for life. Thank you to everyone who supported this long strange and amazing left turn into a place I never thought I’d go.”

Reports also suggested The Voice producers fired him for his bad behavior. During his 2019 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Adam shared that he wanted to spend more time with his family. While he missed working on the show, he felt that he needed to be home instead.
“I was just constantly working for so many years. Very lucky, very fortunate, very blessed, and all that, but just to be able to stop at this moment to spend time with my new young family and just have the greatest time ever.”
