Italy’s Jannik Sinner has been in sublime form in the past few months. The 22-year-old has won three out of the four tournaments he has played in the 2024 season. Sinner recently won the Miami Open title as he beat Grigor Dimitrov in the final. This consistency from the 22-year-old has tempted Patrick McEnroe to declare him as the best player on the planet.

After Sinner clinched the title in Miami on Sunday, McEnroe shared a post on X where he declared the Italian as the best player on the planet snubbing Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. McEnroe went on to claim that no one even comes closer to Sinner.

In the last 6 months….@janniksin is the best player on the planet……and it’s not close

Patrick McEnroe declared in a post on X.

Most of those unhappy reminded the American about Novak Djokovic who won two titles in November- Paris Masters and ATP Finals. Check out the reactions from fans to Patrick McEnroe’s post below.

It is worth mentioning that Jannik Sinner has been in top form in the 2024 season. The Italian tennis ace has played four tournaments and has won three titles including a maiden Grand Slam title in Australia. In the tournament (Indian Wells Open) where he could not win a title, Sinner reached the semifinals where he lost to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz.

Now, Alcaraz and Djokovic have not been able to match Sinner’s level in the past three months. While the Spaniard has won only one title which came after a long wait, Djokovic is yet to win a title this season.
