Britney Spears praises ‘old love’ Justin Timberlake’s new song
In her latest post on Instagram, ‘pop princess’ Britney Spears spoke out in support of Justin Timberlake’s latest single, and apologized to those she accidentally ‘offended’ in her memoir.
Recently, Britney Spears posted a clip of Timberlake when he participated in a talk show with Jimmy Fallon and added: “I want to apologize for some of the things I wrote in my book. If I If I offended anyone I truly care about, I’m extremely sorry. I also want to say that I really love the song Selfish by Justin Timberlake. It’s so good and why every time I see Justin and Jimmy together I laughed so hard again???”.
Britney’s post is the latest development after the female singer’s fans are trying to block the male singer’s new achievements. It is the single that opens the way for Timberlake’s comeback album after 6 years, but the song that tops the iTunes Top Songs chart is not his, but the single of the same name that was released in 2011 by Spears on the album Femme Fatale.
Spears’ fans have long been hostile toward Timberlake, whom the Toxic singer dated from 1999 to 2002, especially after the singer played the “victim” in his single Cry Me a River debuted in 2002. The aforementioned “feud” was also recently reignited when Spears’ memoir was released.
Britney also revealed in her memoir The Woman in Me that she and the former NSYNC member had an abortion while they were dating from 1999 to 2002.
Reflecting on the experience, Spears described it as “one of the most painful things I’ve ever been through in my life”, and asserted that “Justin was definitely not happy about the pregnancy. He said they were I’m not ready to have children in my life, that we’re too young.”
She wrote in the book: “I don’t know whether it was the right decision or not. If it were up to me alone, I would never do it. But Justin was sure that he He doesn’t want to be a father.”
She also wrote that although she was “quite surprised” with the male singer’s reaction, “it was not a tragedy”, because she believed that they would eventually have a family.
