A dream is always a dream, and must always be pursued. During the media day on the eve of the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters, Novak Djokovic also expressed himself on the long term, turning his gaze to the next Paris Olympics.
The Olympic gold medal is a milestone that Nole would like to achieve at all costs, the only great goal that he has yet to pursue.
“In the last Olympics it wasn’t possible to play and reach my best level, but for me they are a priority. This is the first time the Roland Garros is being played and it will help the preparation, of course before the Olympics there will be Wimbledon and it is certainly not ideal.
The most important time of the year will be from the Roland Garros to the US Open and it is during this period that you will have to be at your best both physically and mentally,” he explained.

However, the Serbian champion wants to start the Monte-Carlo tournament in the best possible way where, after the bye in the first round, he will make his debut against the winner between the Spaniard Jaume Munar and the Russian Roman Safiullin.
Then there will be the 4th rounds which promise to be intriguing, in a tournament where the Serbian’s psycho-physical conditions will have to be analyzed step-by-step.
Djokovic in a black tennis moment
It’s not a simple period for Djokovic, given how he has had many difficulties in 2024 and still has zero titles.
Nole admitted in the press conference that he has low expectations for the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters and comes to this tournament without feeling the need to win. On the other hand, often in the past the Serbian champion started stuttering and then took off.

This year Djokovic must defend himself from the attacks of the new advance with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner who hope to oust him from the ATP throne. Not only that, because this 2024 will also see another important tournament on clay after Roland Garros, namely the Paris Olympics, a tournament that Djokovic cares about very much.
The Serbian star has never won the Olympics, the only major event missing from his incredible collection.
