Change is always inevitable and constant. Even after winning 12 Grand Slam titles and spending innumerable weeks being the world number one in the tennis world, Novak Djokovic recently broke his partnership with his long-time coach Goran Ivanisevic.

Djokovic has been seen struggling a lot this season. Is this the primary reason behind his decision?

The 39-year-old Australian former tennis player Samantha Stosur recently appeared in ‘The AO Show’ podcast. During the conversation, she revealed that coaching the world number one is perhaps not the easiest job in the world. In fact, she believes Novak Djokovic is fully responsible for this coaching situation.

During the conversation, Stosur said that coaching Novak Djokovic isn’t that easy because he expects to win every week of the year. She went on to add, “So if you lose a couple of matches, it’s like, oh, my gosh, what’s going on? Whereas that’s, you know, such a, you know, unusual position to be in he’s expected to win every single week. So there’s a lot of pressure on a coach.”

She stated that Novak Djokovic had already hinted about it in the press conference at Indian Wells by saying things like “He’s got stuff going on behind the scenes.” Fans have started to get an indication of who’s the real boss of Novak Djokovic’s team over the last few years and now things have become much more clear to them.

“So it kind of makes sense that he’s shaking things up, because he’s obviously he’s not playing to what we are used to, I suppose, pretty high bar. And he set it for himself. So it’s really his own fault,“ Samantha Stosur added.
Even the American tennis legend, Andy Roddick, gave his views recently on this change in Novak Djokovic’s coaching team. He believes that Novak Djokovic’s performances have prompted him to aim his staff.

Andy Roddick gave his thoughts on this issue during a chat on the Tennis Channel. He said, “I was surprised. You don’t look to make moves in March or April. This has had to be a surprise to both of them. There had to be something to set this in motion mid-season.” Roddick even hinted that there could be more changes lining up in Djokovic’s team.
