‘The Voice’ Coach Reba McEntire Shuts Down Rumors She “Scolded” Taylor Swift After the Super Bowl

Reba McEntire is setting the record straight after a news story and Twitter post claimed she confronted Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl. The rumors alleged by the post have no factual basis, but the misinformation has been gaining traction online. Reba took to Instagram to clear her name and warn fans not to fall for the lies spread by the outlet.

“Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet. I did not say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry,” the “I’m a Survivor” singer wrote on Instagram.

The post by America Loves Liberty claimed that Reba scolded Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl after seeing her “making a mockery” of her National Anthem performance on February 11. Reba kicked off the Super Bowl Sunday broadcast with her outstanding performance, and the night ended with Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, winning the Super Bowl.

“Reba McIntire [sic] talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing The National Anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event. ‘I let her have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat,'” the false post reads.

Of course, loyal Reba fans know this isn’t something she would do, the damage was done nonetheless. Country music fans ran to the comments of Reba’s post to defend her and offer sympathy. “Anybody who has actually been a Reba fan for a minute now would KNOW Reba would never act like that. With gentle hands and the heart of a fighter….. She’s a survivor,”
“As soon as I saw this stupid story, I knew it was lies. @reba leads the industry with class, she would never do anything like this. People need to get a life” and “SET EM STRAIGHT, RED👏👏👏,” fans wrote. “They spelled your name McIntire. So made up story AND a lazy proofreader! 😂,” Reba’s Young Sheldon co-star, Melissa Peterman, chimed in.

The America Loves Liberty account responded to Reba’s post beneath their initial Twitter post. “Oh my. Reba McEntire herself responded to our nonsense. Thank you, Ma’am. We love your work. The article is as silly as the headline for a reason. It’s not supposed to be believable. Your fans were staunchly on your side long before this post,” the account owner posted. Whether or not they intended their post to be believable or not, Reba and her fans are clearly not pleased.

Take it from Reba: not everything on the internet is true, so watch out!
