A beautiful mural of Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal in Madrid has hogged the fans’ attention. Both the Spaniards are in Madrid for the ATP Masters 1000 tournament and while Nadal got knocked out in the Round of 16, Alcaraz advanced into the quarterfinals.

Though no one can question how good Nadal is on clay, compatriot Alcaraz has displayed his prowess on the surface. Amidst their run on Madrid soil, fans are gushing over the viral picture of the mural.

A closer look at the picture shows Nadal handing his crown to the talented youngster. Some fans on X pointed out the mural must have been inspired by the 2022 Madrid Open in which the 20-year-old defeated the King of Clay. Check out how these fans reacted to the picture:

Nadal lost to the Czech Republic’s Jiri Lehecka in the fourth round with a scoreline of 7-5, 6-4. The 37-year-old started his campaign with an easy 6-1, 6-0 victory over America’s Darwin Blanch, and later in the second round, avenged his Barcelona Open defeat by knocking out Alex de Minaur in straight sets.

After overcoming Pedro Cachin in three sets, Nadal’s campaign ended in what seemed to have been his last Madrid Open.
