Novak Djokovic to compete at the Monte Carlo Masters after withdrawing from Miami Open.

The ATP has revisited The Tour: A Reality Show in which Novak Djokovic played Bert Critchley with a short clip of the Serbian getting ready to take on his role. The ATP Tour production released the video in February taking potshots via a satire video at those who believe the season is scripted.

In the short video uploaded last month, Andy Murray played Fraser McKnight. He said that the tour is all scripted and people do not realize it. Then Djokovic, who played Bert Critchley, emerges out of the shadows where he walks to the toilet ripping off his shirt. He then explained that he wanted to bring his essence and personality to the role.

Gael Monfils explains how hard it is for him to play an athlete despite not being that good with coordination in real life. Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud were both in the recording room using their grunts to reveal how players feel when they hit the ball.

However, a short clip, recently posted by ATP Tour on X (formerly known as Twitter), was not added to the the original video. Djokovic was seen asking the producer whether it was time to rip off his shirt but he said it would be done later. The Serbian went on to demonstrate his usual celebration of sliding his ear to the spectators.

Djokovic also reacted to the post, claiming that for Bert Critchley it’s all about winning. Possibly a roast at his current tennis form.

Djokovic and Murray both hailed the fifty-second edition of The Tour: A Reality Show, claiming it was unique among others. Both players have been doing the show for the past ten years.

While Djokovic might be active on the social media court lately, the same cannot be said about his tennis. Djokovic will be making his return to Monte Carlo Masters, confirmed with an official update on his website. Djokovic, who had earlier withdrawn from the Miami Open after a disappointing Indian Wells campaign, would be seeking redemption in the European clay tournament.

The World No.1 has been struggling to live up to expectations this season. At the Australian Open, he lost to Jannik Sinner in the semifinals and then withdrew from the Dubai Open. On his return to the Indian Wells tournament after five years, the Serbian shockingly lost to Luca Nardi in the third round.

With no rank points to defend, Djokovic has skipped the Miami Open. However, with the Monte Carl tournament starting on April 6, the first clay Masters 1000 of the season, Djokovic will be hoping to make a strong statement on the court.
