The rapper revealed the sweet story of how he first met his bride Wednesday on Twitter. When Chance was 9 years old, he attended a party at his mom’s office, where Corley performed a Destiny’s Child dance routine — and it was love at first sight.

“I knew I was gonna marry that girl,” he tweeted of the encounter, noting he was too nervous to introduce himself that night. “Sixteen years later it’s happening. This wknd is the time, and the place is my wedding. I’m gonna dance with my wife because this is my destiny.”

Chance and Corley began dating in 2013. After welcoming their daughter Kensli in 2015, the pair split in 2016 before reconciling the next year. Then Chance popped the question on July 4, 2018 at a family barbecue in their native Chicago; he confirmed the engagement the same day as the proposal, simply tweeting: “She said yes.”

When Chance won the best new artist Grammy in 2017, he sweetly dedicated the award to Corley and their daughter.

“I wanna thank God for my mother and my father who’ve supported me since I was young. For Kirsten, for Kensli, for all of Chicago,” he said in his acceptance speech.

Although the couple are very private, last May, Chance offered some insight into their relationship when he wished her happy birthday on Instagram.

“From the beginning beginning to the end end. You are my oldest and best friend. You are responsible for everyone [sic] of the most wonderful things in my life,” he captioned a sweet slideshow of images. “I’m forever grateful that God made me find you, and even more grateful that you made me find God. Forever and ever babe.”

CHANCE the Rapper and his wife Kirsten Corley have announced they are splitting ways in a joint statement.

Chance, 30, and Kirsten, also 30, shared the news that they are calling it quits on Wednesday.

The former couple took to their Instagram Stories where they posted a jointly-written statement, reading, “After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways.

“We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the same time we spent together,” they explained.

“God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together.

Just months later, they welcomed their second daughter Marli, now 4.

The weekend of his wedding to Kirsten, Chance shared the sweet story of how he first met his wife with his fans.

While attending his mom’s 2003 office party, the rapper noticed a young Corley dancing with her friend to the Destiny’s Child song Independent Women Part 1.

He recalled at the time, “Now I’m locking eyes with the prettiest girl I ever seen in my almost-a-decade of life on Earth. I really shouldn’t even say locked eyes cause really, I was just staring at her.”

Despite his dad encouraging him to join the girls and dance due to his talent in the sport, he refused to steal her thunder.

“It’s ’cause I knew I was gonna marry that girl and I ain’t wanna jump the gun,” he claimed.

“So I shook my head with anxiety, moved to the back of the crowd, and never even introduced myself.”

Chance and Kirsten reunited in 2012 at the SXSW Festival in Austin and their relationship began shortly after returning home to Chicago.

The rapper proposed to the entrepreneur at a backyard party in their native city in 2018.

They said “I do” in a star-studded ceremony in Newport Beach, California a year later, with their daughter Kensli taking part as flower girl.

Chance previously opened up about fatherhood in a conversation with People saying, “I’ve been waking up daily with a newfound gratitude and being very grateful that I’m married right now.

“The fact that me, my daughters and my wife all live in one house together is a huge, huge blessing, so I’ve just been taking that in.”
