Announcing a series of stars from America to K-Pop, Coachella 2024 sales are still at a record low

Iconic music festival Coachella is facing its worst sales decline in 10 years.

Coachella 2024 music festival began selling tickets on January 19. However, until now, tickets for the first weekend of this music festival have not yet been sold out. This is an unprecedented phenomenon in the 10 years this event took place.

Normally, as soon as Coachella announces the opening of ticket sales, audiences will immediately search for the opportunity to own weekend tickets. Buying tickets is also extremely difficult due to very high audience demand and this has happened continuously from 2014 to 2022. Even in 2022, tickets were sold out in just 4 hours. At its peak, in 2015, tickets for Coachella weekend were sold out after just 40 minutes of going on sale.

However, this year, even though ticket sales have started for 1 week, the first week of Coachella 2024 is still not fully booked. Many fans in the US criticize that the reason is because this year’s tickets are too expensive, especially in the current context of economic instability that greatly affects the spending habits of the audience.

Although a series of big names have confirmed their participation in the music festival such as Lana Del Rey, Tyler, Doja Cat… but it seems that this is still not enough to attract the crowd. Two groups LE SSERAFIM and ATEEZ will also join the performing artists in the hope of attracting attention from K-Pop music lovers. However, the audience believes that this year’s artist lineup is not suitable and not “worth” the cost of a ticket.
