They may both be largely successful Hollywood stars, but nothing makes Chrissy Teigen and John Legend happier than their four kids! The Lip Sync Battle host and the “All of Me” singer are over the moon about the arrival of their family’s latest addition — son Wren Alexander Stephens.

The pair announced they welcomed baby No. 4 via surrogate on June 28, 2023, in a sweet Instagram post. Seeing Wren arrive into the world was Chrissy and John’s dream come true. The news came just five months after the pair welcomed their third child, daughter Esti Maxine, on January 13, 2023.

John and Chrissy first became parents when their eldest child, daughter Luna, arrived in 2016. Just two years later, the stars welcomed Miles into their family. Although her transition into motherhood was one of the greatest achievements of her life, Chrissy hasn’t been shy about the difficulties of suffering from postpartum depression.

“John and my doctors were my strength,” she once revealed during an appearance on Today. “I had such a good group of people that were around, and people were really watchful of me. I had really changed. It wasn’t just being tired; it was being really sad and hard on yourself and down on yourself. It wasn’t just the blues and a lot of us think it is the baby blues — you are going through different things, of course.”

Postpartum depression isn’t the only struggle Chrissy faced after becoming a mother. In January 2019, the FABLife actress opened up to Good Housekeeping about learning to accept her body after giving the ultimate gift of life.

“I’m not blind. I see my body, I see the difference in shape, I see that I gained weight,” Chrissy shared, noting the changes her body experienced during her pregnancies was all worth it. “I also see with those same eyes that I have a beautiful baby boy and an amazing little girl, and I am very happy.”

The pair experienced pregnancy loss in September 2020 when Chrissy was carrying their son Jack. She opened up about the heartbreaking loss in an Instagram post with photos from the hospital.

“We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital,” Chrissy penned. “But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So, he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.”

Luna Simone Stephens

Chrissy and John welcomed their first baby on April 4, 2016. The proud mom and dad announced they gave birth and named their first daughter, Luna Simone, three days after initially welcoming her.

Since Luna’s a little older now, the adorable youngster is already experiencing tons of Hollywood perks thanks to her parents. In fact, Luna already made her debut on Saturday Night Live as she got to walk across the sketch show’s iconic stage.

“An emotional moment for me. My baby doing the dream!” Chrissy captioned a clip she shared of Luna trying to recite the famous intro line, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday night,” via Instagram in May 2019.

Although John and Chrissy are able to give their kids everything they want, the famous duo are still raising them to be humble and kind.

“Luna’s just gotten into starting to be able to walk and talk and actually vocalize things,” Chrissy shared with Entertainment Tonight. “In L.A. we do a ton of donations to Baby2Baby every single day. We have a pile of things that we love to giveaway, and I just feel like, already very young, she’s excited to be able to share her things with people and knows [there are] people that are less fortunate than her. She’s happy to support them, honestly. So, I’m happy.”

The cookbook author even dished that Luna may follow in her comedic footsteps when she gets older. While chatting with ET in June 2019, Chrissy dished her little girl has “amazing timing.”

“She is so verbal … obviously, everyone’s kids say something and you’re like, ‘Where did you get that?’” she explained. “But with us, it’s like, ‘How did you learn that tone or phrasing?’ She phrases things really well and she, like, holds a beat to give the punch line with things. It’s really interesting. But yeah, she’s so funny.”

Miles Theodore Stephens

John and Chrissy welcomed their second child, son Miles Theodore, on May 16, 2018. The “Ordinary People” singer and the brunette beauty shared the good news of his arrival on social media the night he was born. “Somebody’s herrrrrrre!” Chrissy marveled on Twitter.

Since Miles became a member of their family, Chrissy and John can’t help but gush over him on social media. Aside from proving the adorable youngster is his dad’s ultimate mini-me, Chrissy loves showing off her son’s accomplishments.

In July 2019, the former Deal or No Deal model was over the moon when Miles started walking. “I think I just got his first real steps!” she wrote alongside a clip of her kiddo.

Months later in September 2019, Chrissy shared the sweetest moment between her and Miles as he gave his mama a kiss for the very first time. “Finally!! Having a squirmy, busy, busy baby is tough,” she captioned the clip. “I have been waiting so long for him to give me kisses! 16 months, worth the wait.”

Chrissy gave birth to Esti on January 13, 2023. She announced the little one’s arrival on Instagram along with the first photos of her newborn.

“She’s here! Esti Maxine Stephens — the house is bustling, and our family could not be happier,” the TV personality captioned a January 19, 2023, post. “Daddy sheds nightly tears of joy seeing Luna and Miles so full of love, and I am learning you still need diapers with a C-section!? We are in bliss. Thank you for all the love and well wishes — we feel it all!”

John later revealed the meaning behind his youngest daughter’s name.

“It turns out, my great-grandmother was named Esther,” The Voice coach explained in a February 2023 interview with E! News. “It wasn’t intentionally after someone, but once Chrissy told me that idea, I was like, ‘Oh, my great-grandmother’s name was Esther.’”

Wren Alexander Stephens

On June 28, 2023, Chrissy announced Wren’s arrival and shared sweet pictures of her baby boy. The celebrity chef explained that she always wanted four children and decided to turn to a surrogate before conceiving Esti.

“After losing Jack, I didn’t think I’d be able to carry any more babies on my own. To be honest, I’ve personally blocked out a lot of my mindset during that time, but one clear memory is being surrounded by people who wanted to make sure I wouldn’t go through that pain and loss again,” Chrissy wrote. “In 2021, we reached out to a surrogacy agency, with our first correspondence inquiring about perhaps having two tandem surrogates, to each bring us a healthy baby boy or girl.”

The couple met their surrogate, Alexandra, and were thrilled to begin their baby journey. However, it presented certain challenges and emotional moments for the family.

“The first embryo we tried with Alex didn’t survive, and I will never forget how hard she fought to get ready for a second transfer,” the mom of four revealed in the post. “How much she gave up of her own body — surgeries to get scar tissue cleared, the mental toll it takes to go through all of that for yourself, much less for other people.”

After giving it some time, they tried again and Alexandra became pregnant with the couple’s little boy. At the same time, Chrissy was pregnant with Esti — bonding them throughout their pregnancies.

“We ate hot pot to celebrate, watched Vanderpump Rules with our growing bellies, our families blending into one for the past year,” Chrissy continued. “Just minutes before midnight on June 19th, I got to witness the most beautiful woman, my friend, our surrogate, give birth amidst a bit of chaos, but with strength and pure joy and love.”

Wren’s middle name is an ode to his surrogate mother.

“We want to say thank you for this incredible gift you have given us, Alexandra,” Chrissy finished the post. “And we are so happy to tell the world he is here, with a name forever connected to you, Wren Alexander Stephens.”
