Less than a year after welcoming two more children, Chrissy Teigen is dishing on her and John Legend‘s recent decision to renew their vows and commemorate ten years of marriage!

Teigen shared her commentary during a sit-down with PEOPLE, noting that the celebration was “really special.” Chrissy also remarked that she felt “so lucky” in the “corniest” way.

“It was really special. Way more emotional than I anticipated, but really so good. And I just feel so lucky and so blessed and in all the corniest of terms.”

She added, “It was so f***ing sweet and amazing.”

However, Teigen pointed out that she was a bit hesitant to go through with a vow renewal. As for what fueled this sentiment, she cited vow renewals being the so-called “kiss of death” in Real Housewives stars’ marriages. Nonetheless, though, she followed through.

“I didn’t want it to be a vow renewal. I come from the world of Real Housewives and a vow renewal is the kiss of death, but I was like, ‘Let’s kiss it. Let’s do it.’”

Regarding whether she and John would be open to eventually having another vow renewal, she joked, “My business accountant says that I can do it every 25 years.” Chrissy Teigen then noted that, while she isn’t a fan of celebrations, she’d be open to the idea.

“But no, I would, but you want to make it special too. And I really don’t like celebrations, whether it’s my birthday or anything. But I do love gratitude and I love thanking the people that have been there for the past 17 years of our relationship. To me, that was everything.”

Returning to her initial reluctance to have a vow renewal, we should note that Chrissy shared a receipt at the end of a photo dump, showing the model declaring that she and John “do NOT want a [vow] renewal.” In response, her friend stated, “It’s 100% a vow renewal.”

The Vow Renewal Follows Some Significant Developments For The Family

This development comes months after Chrissy Teigen and John Legend welcomed two additional children together, as The Shade Room reported.

Back in January, Chrissy gave birth to a baby girl named Esti.

About five months later, Teigen announced that she and John had enlisted the help of a surrogate to welcome a baby boy, Wren.

While sharing the news of her youngest child’s arrival, Chrissy proclaimed, “For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted four children.”

In addition to these two newborns, Chrissy and John also share Luna and Miles — born in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

Furthermore, Chrissy was pregnant with a son named Jack in 2020, though complications ensued. While she initially described the loss as a miscarriage, Chrissy Teigen eventually acknowledged that she had an “abortion to save [her] life for a baby that had absolutely no chance.”

Within her lengthy announcement about Wren, she shared a message to Jack by writing, “To our Jack, we know both their angel kisses are from you.”

Congratulations to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend on their vow renewal!
