Miley Cyrus won her first Grammy award
Almost a decade after her first Grammy nomination, finally, Miley Cyrus won her first Grammy award. The Pop diva can now boast of owning a golden gramophone. She wins for the best pop solo performance for her hit Flowers. She beat out Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Taylor Swift, and Olivia Rodrigo.
Cyrus got five other nominations at the 2024 Grammys: Album of the Year (Endless Summer Vacation), Record of the Year (Flowers), Song of the Year (Flowers), Best Pop Vocal Album (Endless Summer Vacation), and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (Thousand Miles with Brandi Carlile). While some fans are happy she has won this time, some still can’t believe that she beat Swift.
Miley Cyrus Has Won the First Grammy Award of Her Career
The Party in the U.S.A. singer wins the best pop solo performance for Flowers, at this year’s Grammy, beating out Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift. Mariah Carey presented the award to Cyrus.
While accepting her first Grammy Award, she said: “This MC is going to stand next to this MC because this is just too iconic.”

“Oh my God, I got stuck in the rain in traffic, and I thought I was going to miss this moment. I could have missed the award, that’s fine, but not Mariah Carey. I just saw you at the Hollywood Bowl, and it was everything.”
“And this song, ‘Flowers,’ is my butterfly,” Cyrus added.
Flowers topped the Billboard Hot 100 for straight eight weeks after its release and broke Spotify’s record for most streams in a single week with more than 100 million listens.
As Miley Cyrus won her career’s first Grammy Award, another contender for that category was none other than Taylor Swift. She was nominated for her song, Anti-Hero.

As soon as it was announced that Cyrus had won her first Grammy award and Cyrus was celebrating her first Grammy during the performance of Flowers, Swift was seen cheering for her.
However, still, some can’t believe that she lost to Cyrus. Many were happy seeing Cyrus win it for the first time, though.
Music from the blockbuster Barbie (2023) movie received 11 nominations, including the record of the year for Billie Eilish’s ballad, What Was I Made For?.
