Olivia Rodrigo helped Jimmy Kimmel score some major cool dad points with his kids.

The “Drivers License” singer “hitched a ride” with Kimmel, his wife Molly McNearney and their two kids, Jane, 9, and William John “Billy,” 6, on their way to school in a VinFast, singing tunes for a taped segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

In the clip released on Tuesday, Kimmel and his other half are sitting in the front, with Jane and Billy looking bored in the back seat, discussing how much they don’t like school.

“Oh, there’s a hitchhiker over there, should we pick her up?” Kimmel asked as their car turned to reveal Rodrigo standing in a lilac sweater and black shorts with her thumb out.

“Oh my God Billy, it’s Olivia Rodrigo,” a stunned Jane said as she covered her face with her hands.

“Hey! Do you guys mind if I hitch a ride?” Rodrigo said with a big smile as she climbed into the middle back seat.

While both kids appeared to be shocked, Rodrigo did a good job of warming them up as she asked Jane what her favorite one of her songs was.

“Um, I really like ‘Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl,'” Jane shared.

“That’s one of my favorites too, that’s so sweet, thank you for saying that,” Rodrigo replies. When prompted by his mom, Billy then weighs in with his top choice: “The ‘Get Him Back’ song.”

The backseat trio then proceeds to belt out the songs on the car stereo, with Jane’s choice up first, then Billy’s. When they arrive to school, Rodrigo hugs the siblings goodbye. “Thank you guys, I feel so loved!”

After her mom helps her put on her backpack, Jane mouths out one more “Oh my God,” as she walks away from the car.

“Hey, thank you for getting up early and giving my kids a real thrill,” Kimmel said later during her guest appearance on the show, explaining to the audience that his kids listen to her music every day during the morning car ride.

“It was so much fun. I hope they had a good time,” Rodrigo responded, as Kimmel thanked her again. “Oh, it was a pleasure.”

Seeing people listen to her music is still a new experience for Rodrigo since she released her first album Sour during the pandemic.

“I never got to actually experience any of the fun events that go along with an album release!” the three-time Grammy Award winner told PEOPLE last month ahead of a listening event for her sophomore album Guts. “I never got to watch people as they listened to the songs for the first time. It’s really fun.”

“I owe so much to my fans,” she continued at the Spotify x American Express pop-up experience. “When you’re making the record, you always have your favorite song, and my producer has his favorite song and the label has their favorite song, but sometimes you don’t really know which songs people are going to choose as their favorite until it comes out. So I’m really anxious to see what people like the most.”
