Taylor Swift and J-Law’s Reaction to Emma Stone’s Golden Globes 2024 Win Was So Sweet

Friends supporting friends! If you’re an Emma Stone girlie, well, so are Jennifer Lawrence and Taylor Swift. The pair’s reaction to Stone’s Golden Globes 2024 win was pure delight, even though JLaw lost in the category.

Stone took home the award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture for her role as Bella Baxter in Poor Things. “I see this as a rom-com,” Stone said in her acceptance speech. “Bella falls in love with life itself.”

As the camera pans, you can see Swift cheering and shouting in support of her longtime friend, while her plus-one Keleigh Teller cheers alongside her. There’s clearly a lot of love left between Swift and Stone even though they aren’t seen together as much publicly anymore — the former attended the New York City premiere of Poor Things back in December.

After her win, when asked backstage about her friend’s supportive cheers, Stone joked, “What an a**hole, am I right? …I’ve known her for almost 20 years and I was very happy she was there. She was also nominated tonight which was wonderful and, yes, what an a**hole.”

Lawrence, meanwhile, was up against Stone in the category, and jokingly mouthed as the nominees were announced, “If I don’t win I’m leaving.” (Although, maybe not joking.) But once Stone won, her demeanor changed entirely as she played up the enthusiasm, jumping up to scream and clap in support.

JLaw and Emma Stone have been also been friends for a while, thanks to mutual friend Woody Harrelson. Stone texted her once, and “I replied, ‘F*ck off!’ And we’ve been really good friends ever since,” Lawrence told Vanity Fair. “I feel like it was our version of The Notebook — 365 texts.” As for competition between them, Jennifer Lawrence once said, “If I wasn’t her biggest fan, I would’ve Tonya Harding’d her in the kneecaps.”
