Taylor Swift has outpaced Beyoncé and Rihanna on the World’s Most Powerful Women rankings this year.

Forbes has published its annual list of the 100 most powerful women in the world. Among them, Taylor Swift surprisingly ranked 5th and she is also the highest ranked artist ever. Thus, the singer born in 1989 is ranked only behind European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde, US Vice President Kamala Harris and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The list of the most powerful women in the world is determined by Forbes based on four main metrics: finance, media, impact and scope of influence. From there, this prestigious newspaper will find 100 women “who are shaping policies, products and political struggles to reshape the world”.

In its article, Forbes noted Taylor Swift’s recent billionaire status and estimated her current net worth at $1.1 billion. This includes $500 million in royalties and touring, $500 million from the music catalog and about $125 million in real estate. This year, the revenue from her tour, The Eras Tour, was the reason she achieved this status and she also became the first artist to become a billionaire based solely on her music.

In Forbes’ list of the 100 most powerful women in the world in 2023, there are two other female stars, namely Beyoncé and Rihanna.

Specifically, Beyoncé ranked 36th, up 44 places compared to her 80th position last year. The 42-year-old superstar’s historic victory at the recent Grammys helped Beyoncé become the artist with the most awards at this prestigious awards ceremony. In addition, “Queen Bee”‘s historic Renaissance tour and collaboration with Balmain are also part of the reason why she ranked in Forbes’ top 40 this year.
