49ers WR Deebo Samuel abruptly WALKS OUT of interview when pressed on his comments about beating Eagles by “double-digits” if Brock Purdy didn’t get hurt

The 49ers lost to the Eagles in the NFC Championship game earlier this year.

Earlier this year, the San Francisco 49ers lost to the Jalen Hurts led-Philadelphia Eagles in a humiliating fashion in the NFC Championship game after the Niners QB Brock Purdy got hurt in the first quarter. Ever since the loss, some players from the 49ers camp, including WR Deebo Samuel have been downplaying the Eagles’ victory, claiming the Niners would’ve won if their quarterback didn’t get injured.

However, it seems like Samuel has talked enough about the loss. During a recent interview on the CBS Sports Radio’s “The Zach Gelb Show,” the 49ers wideout Deebo Samuel suddenly ended the interview when Gelb kept asking him about the NFC championship loss.

Zach Gelb, the interviewer, asked why Samuel believes that they would’ve beaten the Eagles by double digits if Brock Purdy stayed healthy. To which Samuel simply replied, “I don’t know that though.” Furthermore, when Gelb asked Samuel that if he still believes it, the wideout replied, “I do, but we’re not gonna keep talking about that. I said what I said.”

When Gelb asked Samuel what will happen when the Niners face the Eagles in the 2023 regular season, he responded “Just wait until Week 13.” Finally, when the interviewer asked the Pro Bowl pass catcher if he had any message for Eagles fans, Samuel abruptly hung up the phone and ended the interview.

Back in May, while discussing the NFC Championship game loss with Complex Sports, Samuel said that “We lost because we played with 10 people” and it “would’ve definitely been a different outcome” if they were fully healthy.

Brock Purdy could be ready for week 1 of the 2023 regular season

Back in January, the 49ers‘ rookie sensation Brock Purdy suffered an elbow injury which resulted in the Niners losing the NFC Championship game against the Eagles. He successfully went through surgery and now he is in the rehab process. He started throwing the football with his injured arm and is headed in the right direction in his recovery.

And now, according to reports, Purdy has shown brilliant improvement in his recovery. Initially, Purdy was expected to miss the majority of the 2023 regular season. But now, some reports suggest Purdy could be ready to take the field as early as week 1 of the upcoming season.

However, the Niners camp would be careful with how they handle Purdy’s return. Besides, their former first-round pick Trey Lance has also shown tremendous improvement in the off-season. So, the Niners won’t be in a rush to bring back the injured Brock Purdy.
