50 Cent Debuts G-Unit Studios In Shreveport And Is Honored With Key To The City

50 Cent has boosted his entertainment empire. Last Thursday (April 18), 50 Cent officially launched G-Unit Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana. The hip-hop tycoon was also honored with a key to the city by Mayor Tom Arceneaux and April 18 has been designated as 50 Cent Day in the city of Shreveport.

A large crowd gathered at Government Plaza on Thursday afternoon to witness the mogul officially secure the lease for the studio from Louisiana officials. At the ceremony, Shreveport talents were showcased, including the marching bands of Huntington and Booker T. Washington high schools, as reported by KTBS 3. The establishment, previously known as Millenium Studios and once owned by the city, is now under new management of G-Unit Studios.

The “In Da Club” rapper is leveraging the appeal and influence of the G-Unit Film and Television company to expand his entertainment empire. The company houses his most successful television projects, such as STARZ TV series Power, which includes Raising KananForceGhost, and the series BMF.

Mayor Arceneaux also honored 50 Cent by granting him a key to the city of Shreveport and declaring April 18 as 50 Cent Day. The agreement between 50 and the city was first reached in November of last year, when the Shreveport council granted G-Unit Studios Film and Television the lease of Millennium Studios. He celebrated this new acquisition on Instagram by teasing the arrival of G-Unit Studios.

“All Roads lead to Shreveport if you ready to work in 🎥film and television. G-unit studios Is officially in Louisiana,” 50 exclaimed in the caption of his Instagram post.

In 2023, KSLA 12 reported that G-Unit Film and Television acquired a 30-year lease for the building at $2,400 per year, with an option to extend for 15 years. The studio, which has recently undergone renovations, will now serve as the primary filming location for projects involving 50 Cent. Additionally, it will also operate as a creative center for the entertainment and film industry.

Events are already planned to take place at the new G-Unit Studios. 50 recently took to Instagram to announce Humor & Harmony Weekend, an summer bound event supported by his cognac brand, Branson, and champagne brand, Le Chemin du Roi.
