At 40, Aaron Rodgers hopeful of playing for another 3-4 years as he continues his recovery from Achilles injury

Aaron Rodgers is still recovering from his Achilles injury.

The New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is all set to make his grand comeback in the NFL 2024-25 season. The veteran QB was expected to lead the Jets to a postseason run last season. However, an Achilles Tendon injury in the very first game cut his campaign short. Despite multiple claims of him being coming back before the playoffs, Rodgers did not make a miraculous comeback. He took his time and is currently preparing for the coming season.

When Rodgers got injured, one question was often raised whether this would be his last season as a professional NFL player. The question was raised due to multiple reasons doing the rounds. Rodgers was about to turn 40 when he got injured. Hence, recovering from the Achilles Tendon injury was thought to be very difficult. Hence, the quarterback’s return was questioned by the fans.

Nevertheless, the QB is returning in the next season. In an interview, the QB said he wished to play football for three to four more years. The QB is presently 40 and if he plays for 3-4 more years then he will be 43/44. So, he is looking to follow in the footsteps of Tom Brady and play into his mid-40s. Brady hung up his boots when he was 45. He ended his career as a 7-time Super Bowl champion. Now, Aaron Rodgers is looking to match his longevity.

During a recent appearance in the ‘Look Into It Podcast with Eddie Bravo‘, Rodgers revealed how he keeps himself fit. He also expressed his plans to continue in football with the help of his diet and fitness level.

How can I be the best with my diet and with my fluid intake? Just everything down to a tee to try and a get better… I am hopeful I can play two or three or four more years to play, but you need to have good fortune for that.

He further thanked his rehabilitation behind the comeback.

Aaron Rodgers’ return will be huge boost for the Jets

After last season’s poor performance on the gridiron, the New York Jets are looking for ways to turn the table this year. The departure of Zach Wilson is almost guaranteed. The franchise has given the green light to Wilson to find a trade partner.

Wilson was the starter for the Jets last season. Due to the Achilles Tendon injury of Rodgers, the quarterback got multiple opportunities to prove his potential in the league. However, he failed to perform at a high level and the Jets season went badly.

And now, with the comeback of Rodgers, he will take over the starter role of the Jets. The team might look to add a solid backup quarterback in the off-season.

The only thing that the Jets are hoping for is Aaron Rodgers to stay healthy. If he remains healthy, then the Jets have a good chance to prevail in the league.
