C.J. Stroud showers Joe Burrow with utmost respect after outplaying him in Texans’ solid win over the Bengals

Joe Burrow gave away 2 interceptions which ultimately proved costly for his team on Sunday.

The NFL world went crazy after C.J. Stroud, the rookie quarterback for the Houston Texans, did something amazing. After his heroics with a five-touchdown game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the young QB outplayed Joe Burrow in his encounter against the Cincinnati Bengals. It marked his brilliance on the turf, as the QB was pivotal in snatching the game from the face of the Bengals.

In the post-match presentation, Stroud discussed his performance elaborately. He thanked his team and his head coach. However, what garnered the most of the attraction was his immense praise for Joe Burrow and his way of playing.

The rookie QB gave all his flowers to Burrow and said,

It was a great Bengals team and it was a great Bengals defense. I am a huge fan of Joe Burrow. It was an honor to play against him.

Stroud might be a great fan of Burrow and could have had huge respect. However, on the turf, he treated the highest-paid QB of the league as his competitor. Might be the fiercest one. He responded to Burrow’s every action in style.

It all started with Burrow having a 32-yard throw to Trenton Irwin for a touchdown. Stroud and the Texans responded by hanging 20 unanswered. The crowd fastened their seatbelts for a fierce encounter.

Ahead of the final minutes of the game, Burrow hit the ball to Tyler Boyd for a 64-yard gain. With the help of a field goal, the team settled the scorecard into a tie. Stroud had 93 seconds to get his team for a field-goal range and he took only 88. He managed a six-play with a 55-yard drive that helped his team win the game through a 38-yard field goal. Matt Ammendola made no mistake in securing that.

Question marks rise again on the Bengals’ playoff future

The loss against the Texans raised a question mark for the Bengals’ playoff future. After nine games, they are at the bottom of the tough AFC North Division. On Thursday, the team will face the Baltimore Ravens and the game will have a role to determine their playoff future.

In their last encounter with the Ravens in week 2, the Bengals lost 24-27. It was a close encounter, and Burrow was limited with a calf injury. However, this Bengals team is different, as Burrow has come over from his injuries and showing his colors on the turf.

Against the Texans, he was brilliant but failed to seal the game. It is to be seen whether he achieves the needed success to get the team back on track against the Ravens.

The Bengals head coach said that the team was focussing on their Thursday encounter. However, he did criticize the team’s lack of attacking intent after the first touchdown and hinted that they would work to get over it.
