CeeDee Lamb boldly defends controversial ‘fumble in the endzone’ rule even after suffering from it in Cowboys-Lions game

The Dallas Cowboys won a very important game on Saturday against the Detroit Lions at home. With that win, the Cowboys improved to 11-5 and are still in the hunt for the top seed in their conference.

It wasn’t a straightforward win for the Cowboys, though, as they won the game by only one point and were one successful 2-point conversion away from losing the game.

One of the major reasons for the Cowboys’ win was WR CeeDee Lamb. The 24-year-old wideout had a historic night against the Lions as he went off for 227 receiving yards and one touchdown.

However, it would have been more had he not fumbled the ball in the second quarter. The ball crossed the goal line and went out of bounds, and it was turned over to the Lions. This is a very controversial rule, but Lamb doesn’t feel the need to change it anytime soon.

Nah, they need to leave it as that. At that point, you need to hold onto the ball if you really want to score. Obviously, for myself, I need to do the same thing. Finishing the play, finishing the drive for the team. I mean, that’s what we’ve got to do. Physicality on the boundary.

Lamb said after the game when asked about the rule

Lamb and the Cowboys had a great outing against the Lions. They still have a chance to win their division if the Philadelphia Eagles lose one of their two remaining games. The Cowboys will look to win their final game of the season against the Washington Commanders next Sunday.

Ceedee Lamb broke Michael Irvin’s single-season record for most yards and catches

The Dallas Cowboys’ win on Saturday against the Detroit Lions was a historic one. Their WR, CeeDee Lamb, broke the franchise record for most catches and receiving yards in a season after last night’s performance. He finished the game with 227 yards and a score and broke Michael Irvin‘s record set in 1995.

It's a real moment for me. Shoutout to my guys. We continue to work, continue to build, continue to grow. I mean, it showed.
I wouldn't be able to do any of this without them, and we're looking forward to keeping that going.

Lamb told the reporters after the Cowboys’ 20-19 win

Lamb has racked up 1,651 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 122 receptions so far this season. He is now on top of the receiving yards leaderboard, ahead of the Miami Dolphins‘ superstar WR Tyreek Hill by 10 yards. He will look to end his season on a high with yet another dominating performance next Sunday.
