Colin Kaepernick DEMANDS a fair chance from NFL team urging them to keep their ‘political bias’ aside

Colin Kaepernick is eyeing for a comeback in 2023.

The last time Colin Kaepernick played in the NFL was back in 2016. After his kneeling during the national anthem drama, Kaepernick feels he has been “blacklisted” by all the teams as no one would sign him to the roster. Now, the former quarterback wants another shot at resuming his pro football career and wants it to be fair keeping aside all the political drama.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Kaepernick said he still trains every week, and he is going to keep pushing because he knows he can still dominate in the league. He added, “Every workout, every opportunity I’ve had to show that, the feedback has always been positive. Everything from, ‘He’s still an elite player,’ to ‘The workout was great; it was better than expected.’”

The former San Francisco 49ers signal-caller said that teams have rejected him for a variety of reasons which he feels are all connected to the incident. Kaepernick wants teams to judge him based on his football prowess and nothing else. He said, “Obviously, there’s something else within this decision. To me, that’s typically what it ends up being, or has been for the last seven years. So, I just want the opportunity to come in, show what I can do on the field. Judge me based upon that, not the political bias that you have.”

Kaepernick was invited by the Las Vegas Raiders last year for a workout. There were reports suggesting that the Raiders were happy with the 35-year-old and would most likely sign him as a backup to Derek Carr. However, nothing panned out, and Las Vegas went ahead with Jarrett Stidham.

Now, the former second-round pick is asking teams to trust a 35-year-old guy (which screams old in football years) with their franchise’s future. Even MVP quarterback Cam Newton was eyeing a comeback in the 2023 season, but no team moved forward to grab him. There is a lot of young talent in the league that teams can stand behind and rather not waste their time behind guys who might deliver one or two good seasons.

It’ll be interesting to see if any team that is in desperate need of a quarterback comes forward to sign him or not.
