Cowboys boss Jerry Jones believes Dak Prescott is ‘certainly’ an MVP candidate this season

In the last three games, Prescott has covered 1082 yards for 11 TDs.

The owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys team, Jerry Jones, knows what is needed for his quarterback, Dak Prescott. Some words of motivation. He is exactly providing that. After a few good games by the QB, Jones has hailed Prescott with words of appreciation.

Using his radio appearance on 105.3 The FAN, the Cowboys GM gave his flowers to Prescott by claiming the QB deserves to be in the MVP talks and has every chance to win it.

When asked about whether Prescott deserved to win the MVP this season, Jones said:

I do. I certainly do. He’s put together a series of games that are the best of his career. It’s the fact that he’s doing them back-to-back. Boy is he really in a position where it’s not only physical but it’s mental.

On Sunday night, the Dallas Cowboys will face the Carolina Panthers. As things stand presently, it seems to be an easy win for the Cowboys. After their nine encounters, they are standing at a 6-3 record. With six wins, they have already shown enough dominance over their opponents. They shattered the likes of the New York Jets and the New York Giants.

On the other hand, the Panthers are presently struggling with a 1-8 record. They only managed to win one out of their nine games. In this context, a win seems to be the most possible outcome for them.

However, the Cowboys need to be a bit cautious as well. They lost against the Arizona Cardinals, a team that has had one of the poorest seasons so far. Nonetheless, the Arizona team stunned everyone when they beat the Cowboys 28-10 in their Week 3 game.

Dak Prescott for MVP this year?

There is hardly any doubt that Dak Prescott has had a good season compared to his last one. Ahead of the season, Prescott announced that he would not be intercepted more than ten times this season. And till now, he has been able to maintain that, not smoothly though.

Apart from the San Francisco 49ers game, he has not been intercepted much. The game against the 49ers was an exception as he had three interceptions in a single game.

Prescott was pretty good in the last three games. He covered more than 1,000 yards and registered 11 touchdowns and was intercepted twice in three games. Against the Philadelphia Eagles, he almost had made it through in favor of his team, but a couple of reviews overturned it.

Nonetheless, a bunch of analysts do not believe that Dak deserves to win the MVP. Skip Bayless is one of them. In one of the recent episodes of his show ‘Undisputed’, the veteran pointed out Prescott’s inability to deliver in big games. He referred to some matches where Prescott failed miserably to deliver for his team.
