Cowboys fanatic Skip Bayless BLATANTLY claims Dak Prescott’s team had NFL’s best offseason this year

Bayless claims the Cowboys have one of the best defenses in the NFL and should not count the offensive players out either.

It seems Skip Bayless is putting his money on the Dallas Cowboys going into the 2023 season. On the recent episode of his ‘The Skip Bayless Show’, the veteran analyst declared that the Cowboys had one of the best offseasons in the entire NFL.

While reacting to a fan poll on The Athletic about how the Cowboys‘ offseason went, he was adamant that it was better than he expected. Bayless gave it an ‘A grade’, as opposed to the voters who voted B on the poll. His argument was that despite other analysts, like LeSean McCoy and Colin Cowherd, writing the Cowboys off for being a defense-heavy team, he believes a solid backline is the heart and soul of a squad.

Furthermore, the moves the Cowboys made will also affect their game in a positive manner. “I believe the Cowboys had the NFL’s best offseason,” said Bayless. “They traded for two must-haves and stole both of them (Brandin Cooks and Stephon Gilmore).”

Bayless expressed his shock at the trades and how quickly the Cowboys wrapped up their business. Moreover, he praised General Manager Jerry Jones for keeping hold of defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. “Somehow the (Dallas) Cowboys managed yet again to keep their defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn,” said Bayless. “I don’t know how Jerry Jones does it.” Dan Quinn was the subject of a coaching role elsewhere.

Are Dallas Cowboys good enough to win Super Bowl 2023 as Skip Bayless predicts?

It’s no secret that Skip Bayless loves the Dallas Cowboys, and his comments should be taken with a grain of salt. However, if one dives deeper into the Cowboys’ locker room, one will understand that Bayless may be onto something.

The Cowboys had a busy offseason, with several players coming and going. In spite of that, they managed to retain some key players. As previously mentioned, they snapped up Brandin Cooks from the Houston Texans. The wide receiver, despite a bad 2022, boasts elite track records. He has managed to rush for 1,000 yards in six of his nine seasons in the NFL, scoring 49 touchdowns. On the other side of the field, they picked up Stephon Gilmore. According to Bayless, the 32-year-old Gilmore is a top-5 cornerback in the league.

Moreover, in the 2023 draft, they picked up Deuce Vaughn, who, according to Bayless, “Will play very big for this time and wind up becoming the steal of the Draft.” Furthermore, they managed to keep linebacker Leighton Vander Esch. Alongside him, Micah Parsons will be looking to bounce back and perform.

But the biggest question is how quarterback Dak Prescott will perform. He will be the main anchorman, and if he plays well, then the Cowboys have a chance.
