The NFL has been witnessing a strange sequence recently. As the 2023 regular season is ending, the competition is getting intense. The NFC East has become the hotbed of intense battles between two teams in the same position. The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Both are trying to win the division and secure the No.1 seed in the NFC. While that seems a bit uncertain due to the magisterial performance of the San Francisco 49ers, winning the Division is still a possible reality for both teams.

Both the Cowboys and the Eagles lost their respective games against the Buffalo Bills and the Seattle Seahawks. After the Cowboys were humbled by the Bills at the latter’s home stadium, the Eagles had every opportunity to take an edge in the NFC East. However, they failed to capitalize on things.

The loss against the Seahawks in a highly-contested game gave the Cowboys enough oxygen before the game against the Miami Dolphins. If they win their next, then they will be in a comfortable zone in the NFC East zone.

Ahead of the game against the Miami Dolphins, the Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was asked whether he wanted the downfall of the Eagles against the Seahawks. Despite acknowledging that the loss did help the Cowboys, he said he had no interest in what other teams were doing. He was instead focusing on his team and his performance to win games.

Thumbs up. I’m not wishing on anyone’s downfall, but I appreciate that. That helps. It kinda evens things out again. Can’t count on them to do that.

Dak Prescott urged his team to stay focused for the next games

If the Cowboys want to achieve the No.1 conference seed, then they need to win the next three games. The Cowboys will face the Dolphins and the Lions in the next two and both will be tough games. Prescott knows that pretty well, and that’s why he suggested his team stay focused and turn the situation in favor.

That’s not what we’re keeping our fingers crossed, hoping for. It’s about us taking care of business and winning games. And hell, if we did that,
that would only make that that much better for us. We gotta win ours and take care of ours first.
