Cowboys QB Dak Prescott remains optimistic about beating good teams on the road despite poor loss to the Dolphins

The Cowboys lost another on road game this season, making their away record as 3-5.

The poor form on the road for the Dallas Cowboys prevailed again as they lost another important game against the Miami Dolphins. In a closely contested game, the Cowboys lost 22-20 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.

The game could have gone anyone’s way, but the Dolphins held their nerve and had the last laugh. It was another frustrating loss for the Cowboys who had the lead till the last minute but ended up giving away the decisive three points through a field goal.

Dak Prescott, while addressing the press, had some good words for his teammates though, who, according to him, put their best effort on the gridiron. Despite losing, the star QB did not lose his hope of beating teams with winning records on the road.

Answering the press, Prescott added,

The confidence is high with this group. We understand that we can (beat good teams on the road) … and we will.

Well, Prescott has some point though. The game was a roller-coaster ride where both teams had their clutch moments. The Dolphins started the game with a field goal. The Cowboys responded to that with a CeeDee Lamb touchdown. The touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa brought the Dolphins into the game again in the second quarter.

With each quarter passing, the Dolphins kept on increasing the lead, for which main credit goes to the team’s kicker, Jason Sanders. Till the end of the third quarter, the Dolphins were leading by 19-10 when the Cowboys led a comeback drive.

With a field goal and a touchdown pass from Prescott, the Cowboys regained a 19-20 lead with three minutes to go. When they thought that they had won the game, the 29-yard FG by Sanders tossed the game in Miami’s favor.

The Dolphins loss has made the journey difficult for the Cowboys

With the loss in week 16, the Cowboys would find their journey difficult in the NFC Championship game. With ten wins and five losses, it will be difficult for them to achieve the No.1 seed in the NFC. What happens if they fail to win the No.1 seed spot? The Jerry Jones men won’t get the home advantage in the playoffs.

The Cowboys are actively looking to end their 28-year-long trophy drought this season. Their form in the early stage made them one of the favorites. Nevertheless, the recent losses can have a major impact on their postseason journey.
