Dak Prescott breaks silence on the impact Trey Lance’s trade will have on his contract while claiming ‘nothing’ in Cowboys surprises him anymore

The inclusion of Trey Lance has shaked some dynamics in the Cowboys camp.

In a shocking turn of events, Jerry Jones, the owner and the general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, traded Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers and listed him as a developmental quarterback for the upcoming season. The inclusion has triggered a pertinent question of whether it will have a significant impact on Dak Prescott’s future, who is presently their first-choice quarterback.

Speaking on these multiple queries, Prescott has finally broken his silence and has come up with an explanation of the situation. The 30-year-old star has said that he is going to leave these talks in the offices where business deals like these take place.

“I’m going to leave that talk and those talks in the office where business is handled. There will come a time when that happens,” he said in the recent presser.

Answering the question of whether he is surprised by the inclusion of Trey Lance in his squad, the QB said that movements like this do not surprise him anymore. He has been playing in this league for eight years and he knows that anything is possible in the tournament.

“To be honest with you, I’m not surprised by anything anymore. I’ve been in this league eight years, been on this team, its hard to say I was surprised to be honest with you,” he told Calvin Watkins, who covers the Dallas Cowboys news and is the president of the Pro Football Writers.

The Dallas Cowboys have not won a conference championship for more than 28 years. However, Jones does not seem to lose hope despite the disappointment that has been existing in the atmosphere for nearly three decades. Instead, he seemed hopeful that his team is in better shape and can be the title contenders in the present season. The inclusion of Trey Lance can strengthen their title hopes.

Will the inclusion revive Trey Lance’s career?

Lance was going through a rough phase with the San Francisco 49ers. He was inducted into the squad two years ago with high hopes that he would be a potential hit. However, in reality, he failed to create a long-lasting impact on the pitch.

Injuries created a major roadblock and the rise of Brock Purdy demoted him to the third option for them. His growth was slow and when the 49ers listed him as the third quarterback, it felt that his career had almost ended.

Hence, the inclusion in the Cowboys’ squad will trigger new hopes in him and he will be desperate to turn the tables. The Cowboys will start their new season on 10 September 2023 against the New York Giants.
