Deion Sanders claims Colorado is getting ready to ‘start cookin’ after demoralizing loss to Utah in the final game of the season

Deion Sanders was hired by the Buffaloes in December 2022.

The Colorado Buffaloes ended their season on a six-game losing streak. It was a weird season for the Buffs as they had a lot of intrigue surrounding them because of their head coach, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. They started their college football season on a bang, winning their first three games on the trot. However, the Buffs only managed to win one game after that and ended up with a record of 4-8.

Their last game of the season was against the Utah Utes who came into the game with a record of 7-4. It was a close game, but the Buffaloes failed to pull off a win as they succumbed to Utah for a 23-17 defeat. The Colorado-based team played the game without their star QB Shedeur Sanders who was sidelined due to injuries. However, Deion Sanders talked highly about his team after the loss and believes that the Buffaloes will be a tough team to deal with next season.

Sanders said after the game:

We getting ready to start cookin. We getting ready to start go pick up that grocery and make sure we do it right. You know what we need. Everybody know what we need. You know dern well what we need, so we gonna get it.

It was an improvement for the Buffs from their previous season when they only managed to win one game.

The Buffs were termed as the biggest story in sports after their early season success. They were the talk of the football world after a 3-0 start. However, that all came crashing down as the season went along. They will hope to build on this in the next season.

Deion Sanders sheds light on the Buffs’ transfer portal strategy going forward

The Colorado Buffaloes had an improved season from last year, albeit still a losing one. They hired Deion Sanders as their head coach in December last year and won their first three games of the season. However, their season had a poor end as they lost their last six games. They ended up with a record of 4-8 for the season. Sanders talked about the team and their offseason strategy going forward.

Sanders said:

We’re getting there. We definitely need giving. You know what I mean. It’s unfortunate to say this, but some kids cost … I have not charted this yet, but I’ve asked for the numbers. You know, we can sit here and talk about great coaching and great this and great that all we want, but it’s gonna be a credit card swipe in some kind of way with all these guys going to these places. And I understand that.

The transfer portal for next will open on December 4. Sanders is expected to go after a lot of recruits and might even succeed in acquiring a lot of those. He did that last year as well when he was hired by Colorado. It will be interesting to see where Sanders takes this team in the future.
