Miami Dolphins safety Elliott has already tasted the sourness of defeat after they lost to the Chiefs 26-7 on Saturday.

And now, he is prepared to risk the wrath of his team’s fans by rooting for their AFC East division rivals to avenge the Dolphins‘ playoff loss.

Posting an image to his Instagram account of a caesar salad, Elliott said he hoped the Bills could upset the odds by beating the reigning Super Bowl champions and attempted to pray the scenario into existence.

“I pray by the Grace of God on the Chiefs down fall [sic]. I hope Buffalo beats them like they stole something,” he wrote.

Some might call it a desperate attempt for payback, while others may believe the Bills have a genuine shot of beating the Chiefs after an underwhelming campaign for Andy Reid‘s side.

How Deshon Elliott broke Patrick Mahomes’ helmet

Helmets are made to sustain heavy impacts to protect the head, but Elliott is built different.

With 9:25 left in the third quarter of Kansas City’s wild-card showdown with the Miami DolphinsMahomes escaped the pocket and broke around right end for the Dolphins‘ goal line.

There, he was met by Elliott at the Dolphins‘ three-yard line, and he butted heads with Mahomes with such force that his helmet cracked and a piece of the exterior even flew off.

Mahomes required a spare helmet, which isn’t a sight often seen in the NFL, as he showcased the huge chip on the top of his head protection equipment.

And that incident, combined with Elliott‘s plea for a Bills victory, would appear to suggest there is no love lost between the pair ahead of Sunday’s clash.
