DJ Moore advises Caleb Williams to focus on winning over Bears locker room, not Justin Fields’ legacy

Its more or less a done deal for the Chicago Bears drafting Caleb Williams as the No. 1 pick.

The Chicago Bears decided to trade Justin Fields even after all the open support he had in the dressing room. Multiple players, including the wide receiver DJ Moore and the tight end Cole Kmet, stood up for Fields.

However, that did not help Fields to stay in the team. It seems Moore has finally decided to move on from his former quarterback and wants to focus more on what he will have, most likely Caleb Williams, in the coming time.

In an interview with Mully and Haugh show, Moore said no matter what happens in the team, he would focus on his work. As the departure has already happened, he suggested moving on and getting the business done with the new QB to come into the team.

Whoever we get, I’m going to be excited to work with them--Business is business. Nobody wanted [Justin Fields] to go. But at the end of the day, that’s what the organization made the plans to do.

Moore said in the interview on Thursday

It’s more or less confirmed after Fields’ trade that the Chicago Bears team would go for the college football wonder Caleb Williams. Though nothing is confirmed, all sources are indicating this trend.

Moore has something to say to Caleb Williams

Amid the Caleb Williams hype, multiple questions are also doing rounds regarding the possible inclusion of the quarterback in the squad. There is a concern regarding the chilly Chicago weather. Williams has been a ‘warm weather’ quarterback for a long and the question is arising whether he will manage things in the windy conditions of Chicago.

Beyond that, there is a team management concern. A lot of people have raised the question of whether Williams will manage to bring the senior players who had been a vocal supporter of Fields to take under his fold. Now Moore has a suggestion here. He said that Williams could do other things to win over the veterans of the locker room. Stepping into the shoes of Fields is only a thing.

I hope he just comes in and gets ready to work--You can't worry about the legacy of Justin Fields. You got to go out there and worry (about your own thing).

Moore added.

It is to be seen whether the team goes for Caleb Williams and whether he manages to build a good rapo with the senior players in the team. The 2024 NFL Draft is scheduled for the 25th-27th of April.
