Dwayne Johnson met Colin Kaepernick a few months back about the QB joining the XFL amid his 7-year long hiatus from football

Dwayne Johnson revealed on Instagram comment that he met with Kaepernick and his agent earlier this year.

Just a few days ago, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick made headlines for writing a letter to the New York Jets asking for an opportunity to revive his football career. Kaepernick hasn’t played in the NFL since 2017 but is still hopeful he can secure a spot in the league. Amidst this, the XFL owner Dwayne Johnson has recently revealed that Kaepernick might never play in his league too.

Recently, Dwayne Johnson made an Instagram post announcing his plans to merge the XFL and the USFL to create one big spring football league. In that post, a fan commented, “This is where Kap should play if he wants to prove he still can.”

In a reply to that comment, Johnson revealed he had a meeting with Kaepernick and his agent earlier this year and extended an invitation for the former 49ers quarterback to play in his league.

“We met with Kap and his agents (whom I like a lot) earlier this year. Good meeting, looked to create opportunity for him but I don’t think it’ll happen. We’ll see,” the Rock wrote in his reply.

The famed actor didn’t reveal any reason why the deal didn’t work out last and why he thinks Kaepernick might never play in the new league. But it seems like Colin Kaepernick has made his stance clear on playing football in any league other than the NFL.

It’s tough news for Dwayne’s new league but they will keep rolling. The XFL recently announced their plans to merge with the USFL to create a new league. No details about the proposed new league have been announced yet but it is great news for football fans who could now end up watching the sport even in the NFL’s off-season.

Colin Kaepernick wrote a letter to the Jets or an opportunity

Recently, the XFL owner Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson implied that he couldn’t convince the controversial former NFL QB Colin Kaepernick to play in his football league. But just a few days ago, Kaepernick wrote a letter to the Jets asking them for an opportunity in their practice squad.

Kaepernick’s letter was posted on social media by the Hip-Hop legend J. Cole. Kaepernick’s letter received heavy backlash since he once compared the NFL Draft process to slavery.

People weren’t happy that Kaepernick was ‘begging’ for an opportunity to play in the league, which he once compared to slavery. Nonetheless, the Jets haven’t made any moves to add Colin Kaepernick to their practice squad as of now.
