The rapper startled the crowd by strutting courtside to the tunes of “Lose Yourself” shortly after the Pistons and Charlotte Hornets players were introduced. He was wearing a black hoodie and a blue Pistons shirt.
Taking over for announcer John Mason, Eminem enthused the audience:
“Detroit, welcome them back to our city, your city, and mine for the first time in over 40 years! Raise a glass in honor of the Detroit Pistons. Come on, let’s go!”
After that, he moved to a seat on the courtside with producer and fellow D12 member Denaun Porter and manager Paul Rosenberg.
Big Sean, a rapper from Detroit, was also present for the evening, which marked the Pistons’ first NBA regular-season game in the city after they moved from Cobo Arena to Auburn Hills and Pontiac in 1978.

Eminem is adamantly against the president and supports NFL national anthem protests, as evidenced by his viral rap.
