Acho believes Hurts was never visible as ‘game-changer’.

Analyst Emmanuel Acho did not hide his agony to launch a fierce verbal attack on the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts after the Eagles had a blowout loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He openly exhibited his disgrace for the signal-caller.

Jalen Hurts did not have a good game against the Bucs in the Wild card. A player of his stature was expected to change the fortune when the Eagles were having a tough time. In reality, Hurts was outclassed by the Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield. Focussing on this, the former LB and the present-day analyst took a dig at him.

Jalen Hurts got exposed this season. The expectations going into this season were higher for Jalen Hurts and for Dak Prescott.
They had the same postseason result and Dak Prescott had a better regular season. So how hard was I on Dak Prescott verbally? Jalen Hurts is going to have to get it too.

He further added:

He is not who he thought he was. And who did he we think? We thought he was capable of putting his team on his back. Who is he actually? Somebody, who needs everything to go right for it to go right

Hurts developed a severe problem of being inconsistent in the later half of the league. After a fierce start to the campaign, the quarterback was seen throwing interceptions. His famous Tush Push did not threaten the opponents as much as it used to do earlier.

In addition, the quarterback’s passing game was also not up to the mark. Despite having nearly a dozen rushing touchdowns, Hurts found himself in a difficult situation.

Acho called out Hurts as a game manager, not a changer

In one of the fiercest of moves, Emmanuel Acho called Hurts a successful game manager. He further noted that the quarterback can not change things on his own. The QB was supposed to take a pivotal role in the games that needed him desperately. However, he failed.

Citing that, Acho said,

All he did this year was manage games. Objectively speaking, this is not my subjective opinion, watch the tape. What game did he change? What game? He did not change the Cardinals game; he did not change the Seahawks game, he did not change the Giants game, he did not change the Cowboys game.

This is not the first time Acho launched an attack on Hurts. A few days back, the analyst said that the quarterback had an average performance in his first and third seasons. It was only the second season where the quarterback signed and carried his team to the Super Bowl game.
