Hailie Jade’s fiancé revealed how he asked her dad’s approval, Eminem, for his blessing

The fiancé of Hailie Jade Scott is disclosing all the information about what it takes to seek her well-known father’s approval.

Scott, 27, is one of the three kids that 50-year-old artist Eminem has with Kim Scott, his ex-wife.

Evan McClintock, Scott’s longtime boyfriend, said that waiting for her father’s OK before proposing on February 4 was just a matter of timing.

“I was looking for a way to not make it too obvious over the holidays,” McClintock said in the most recent podcast episode featuring his fiancée.

The Just a Little Shady podcast host’s birthday falls on Christmas Day, so it was ideal when her dad started getting ready for the celebration.

“I saw your dad go downstairs, and I’m like, ‘I gotta do it right now, or I’m not doing it today, and I’m going to have to schedule another time,’” he went on. “So I just followed him downstairs, and, thankfully, he was just down there getting your cake and made it happen.”

He acknowledges that he started looking for her engagement ring during the Thanksgiving break, but the day after he talked with the Rock and Rock Hall of Fаme inductee, he eventually located the oval-cut diamond.

“You got it, the day after my birthday? That’s absurd,” Scott said, adding that she was discovering all the behind-the-scenes information about the proposal for the first time.

Additionally, McClintock acknowledged that her sister, Alaina Marie Scott, had assisted him with choosing the ring.

It’s weird, but your sister was a big help to me. “She basically told me what I should definitely not get,” McClintock said, laughing. “That’s all I told her, so it makes sense,” Scott said.

She posted pictures of them bursting champagne after the proposal and a peek of the stunning, shining gold ring, along with the caption, “Casual weekend recap… 2.4.23 i love you @evanmcclintock11”. Although she was raised in the public eye, Scott has maintained a private connection with McClintock since their 2016 Michigan State University meeting.

In March 2020, however, her father expressed his acceptance of the relationship during an appearance on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson.

The rapper said, “No babies,” in response to presenter Mike Tyson’s question on whether Scott was a mother of any. a mere romantic partner. “She’s doing good,” he said, “and she’s definitely made me proud.”
