“He always seems to fail!” LeSean McCoy breaks silence on whether Cowboys should commit to Dak Prescott beyond this year

The Cowboys have been relatively quiet in this year’s free agency.

The tension for the extension of Dak Prescott‘s contract is over for the Dallas Cowboys. As things stand now, the quarterback will get a restructured salary in the coming season. In addition to saving the cap space, the team also announced the transformation of Prescott’s roster bonus into the signing bonus.

As a result, Prescott would receive $55.4 million in the place of $59.5 million that he was supposed to get. This has also added the void years of Prescott‘s contract. Even if the Cowboys signal-caller wants to move on from the team after the 2024 season, the latest contract restructuring would give the authority to the Cowboys to carry him after that.

However, the questions are doing rounds of whether it would be a good decision to carry him even after the 2024 season. Prescott’s failures have often been the talk of the town. The quarterback had not performed as expected in the postseason over the years. Last season, was his best in terms of career stats. However, he still failed to grab a stellar job in the playoffs as he ended up throwing interceptions.

Following that, analyst LeSean McCoy believes that it would not be very good for the Cowboys to take him forward. He hinted at the failures Prescott has had over the years as the reason. The former Philadelphia Eagles player believes that the next season will be an action replay of the previous years.

What we have seen, is Dak Prescott will do good in the regular season. He is good at that. Regular champion, he will give you that. He may win the Division. He has done that. In the playoffs, which matters the most, where the lights are on the No. 4, he always seems to fail

LeSean McCoy had also took a jibe at Prescott earlier as well

This is not the first time LeSean ‘Shady’ McCoy took a jibe at Dak Prescott. He did it earlier as well. When the fans were frustrated with the under-recruiting that the Cowboys showed in the offseason, McCoy told the fans to relax. He said that the Cowboys have the players they need. But their problem was Dak Prescott.

Ladies and gentlemen, let’s have the real issue here. It ain’t the roster, it ain’t the free agency, it ain’t the coaches. The hype of the Cowboys for one position, ladies and gentlemen. It is No.4 and his name is Dak Prescott. That’s the reason they can’t go past the divisional rounds. Unless you change Dak, there is no divisional game, there will be no conference games and there will be no championship games

With the next season approaching fast, Prescott would like to change the reputation that he has developed. It is to be seen how difficult his job gets in the coming time and whether he sees positive restricting in his contract.
