Quarterback Brock Purdy is close to surpassing 4,000 passing yards after Jeff Garcia in 2000.

They say a team’s ability is determined by how well the quarterback leads the offense. And Brock Purdy is the perfect example of that. With him in the lead, the San Francisco 49ers have recorded three back-to-back wins after hitting a bump in October.

The quarterback’s efficiency on the field is well-known among his teammates, as the 49ers’ tight end George Kittle recently appreciated Purdy’s presence on the team.

The star quarterback is close to surpassing 4,000 passing yards after Jeff Garcia in 2000. His career record with the 49ers is 4,437 yards. In a recent conversation with Jim Rome on Tuesday, the tight end about the crucial role played by Purdy in the team’s strong offense. Kittle said:

When you have a quarterback that when he steps into the huddle & 10 sets of eyes snap to him, & listen to every word that he says, whether it’s a play call or ‘Hey we gotta get this one’, he just lifts players up.

The tight end shed light on how the quarterback motivates and encourages his teammates at a high level that takes them to play to the whole next level. He further argued:

He lifts us all up to be playing at a higher level & when you’re lifting up guys like Trent Williams, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, Kyle Juszczyk, Christian McCaffrey & our oline, it’s just taking us to a whole nother level. So Brock is the engine.

Currently, the 49ers are leading the NFC West with 8-3 standing. They have averaged 386.1 total yards per game and ranked third in the league. They are tying with the upcoming opponents Philadelphia Eagles in average points per game at 28.3.

Brock Purdy’s connection with WR Brandon Aiyuk in the Week 12 game

After conquering the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers back-to-back, the 49ers next faced up against the Seattle Seahawks in week 12. Fortunately, within just eight minutes into the game, quarterback Purdy took the lead with a knockout punch.

Even though head coach Kyle Shanahan wanted the QB to check down opponents’ tight end Charlie Woerner, he instead went after a long pass that flew well, right before WR Brandon Aiyuk claimed the target points. Purdy’s pass dropped over a Seattle defender and between three others, right when the wideout docked.

Aiyuk then hauled in and turned around into the end zone, resulting in a 28-yard touchdown while taking on a defender. Although this move of Purdy’s was unexpected, it didn’t matter because his connection with the receiver was amazing. Aiyuk has proved himself to be the most dangerous yet reliable target for Purdy.
