Mike McCarthy has a 0-2 record against the San Francisco 49ers as the head coach of the Cowboys.

The match between the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers will be a mouth-watering clash in the coming Sunday. It will be a game between the San Francisco offense and the Dallas defense. It is to be seen which team emerges as victorious.

Ahead of the game, analyst Colin Cowherd made a big prediction. He said that the Dallas are nowhere to be the favorites in this encounter because of their head coach Mike McCarthy. The 49ers will outplay the Cowboys because of McCarthy’s inability to lead his team in big games.

Mike McCarthy is not a bad coach, but I don’t love him in matchups like this. I think he’s going to get out-coached. I think the hole in Mike McCarthy’s game is situational football. Now, you can get away with it when you have Aaron Rodgers in your prime; you can probably get away with more when you have (Ezekiel Elliott), the best offensive line in football, and Dak in his prime. But I don’t think this is one of those situations,” the veteran analyst said on ‘The Herd’.

It is to be noted that Colin earlier praised Kyle Shanahan, the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. In one of the episodes of the show, the Herd, the analyst said that Kyle Shanahan is the best wingman in the NFL world. Cowherd also appreciated how the 49ers coach takes out the best of his players and never takes any credit.

“Kyle Shanahan, you heard about the term wingman, Kyle Shanahan, the Niners’ head coach is the world’s best wingman. He talks you up, he makes you look great, he never takes any of the credit,” Colin noted.

Mike McCarthy’s success as a head coach of the Cowboys

There is hardly any doubt that Mike McCarthy is a great coach, given his winning record in the NFL. He has coached two teams. The Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers. He has won 33 games for the Cowboys and lost 21 games for them. Jointly, the veteran coach holds a record of 158 wins and 98 losses. Only two games in his coaching career have remained unsettled. McCarthy has also gone 11-10-0 in playoffs in his 17 years of coaching career.

Despite these stats, McCarthy has been criticized for not delivering at the crucial moments. He would like to silence his critics this season and will be in desperation to win the Super Bowl.
