“He’s playing as good as I’ve ever seen him play!” Cowboys boss Jerry Jones hails Dak Prescott’s confidence after big win over the Giants

Cowboys’ defensive leader Micah Parsons expressed his firm belief in quarterback Prescott for the MVP conversation.

After claiming a dominating victory over the New York Giants at 49-17, in Week 10 this season, Dallas Cowboys have improved to 6-3 — ranked 2nd in the NFC East division. This win means a lot for the whole team, but particularly to the quarterback Dak Prescott, who has received great praise from franchise owner, Jerry Jones.

Witnessing the remarkable beatdown on Monday night, Jones voiced his confidence in his team, offense line, and especially quarterback Prescott. The Cowboys literally made history by recording the largest total yardage difference of 468 yards, in the Super Bowl era i.e., since the 80s.

Previously, the Cowboys’ owner expressed confidence and pride in his team, asserting they didn’t need to change in personnel but just improve their execution. Jones wasn’t very satisfied with the team’s performance against the 49ers, believing his team could have done better. He said:

I’m very disappointed because we can play better. We viewed that game as ‘Where are we?’ and nobody likes where we are.

This time, filled with pride, he especially praised the quarterback Prescott, saying:

He’s playing as good as I’ve ever seen him play. He’s playing with confidence, but knowledge of the offense. He’s playing in sync with his coaching. As good as I’ve seen him play.

This is the Cowboys’ head coach Mike McCarthy‘s first season calling the plays in Dallas, and receiving such compliments for the quarterback from Jones is a huge deal. After the poor loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, Dallas has improved immensely with an offense featuring Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Can Dak Prescott win the MVP conversation?

Before the Week 10 victory over the Giants, the Cowboys’ defensive leader Micah Parsons expressed his firm belief in quarterback Prescott for the MVP conversation. He had said:

I think that Dak Prescott should be in the MVP conversation. If you’re looking at numbers, what he’s able to do, his efficiency, things like that, Dak Prescott is playing at an elite level.

Against the Giants, Prescott recorded the completion of 26 out of 35 passes for 404 yards and four touchdowns with just one interception. According to the DraftKings Sportsbook, the odds of Prescott winning the MVP currently stand at +4000. However, he isn’t close to that of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. Though he can easily compete with the dark-horse contenders like Trevor LawranceTyreek Hill, and star rookie C.J. Stroud.

In Week 10, quarterback Prescott had 97.2 QBR, which is the best single-game rating by any quarterback across the league this season. Overall, he ranks third in QBR at 72.5.
