“I don’t think he has a choice” – Deion Sanders doesn’t want son Shedeur to play in cold when he steps in the NFL, fans react

Shedeur Sanders is among the top prospects of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Recently, Caleb Williams’ name shone on the headline regarding speculations of him trying to force his way to a different team than the Chicago Bears. It hasn’t happened in the league since Eli Manning in 2004.

However, it was merely a speculation. And there are no signs suggesting the USC quarterback intends to go elsewhere in the upcoming draft, given he is the favorite to be the No. 1 pick– owned by the Bears. Amidst the draft saga, Deion Sanders expressed his blunt views indicating he would have a big say on prospective teams for his son, Shedeur Sanders in 2025.

With a stellar record in college football, the Colorado quarterback is already said to be among the top prospects of the 2025 NFL Draft. His father, Deion is the head coach of Colorado and he is the one who decided Shedeur wouldn’t declare his participation this offseason.

In a recent interview with SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio with Chris Russo, Deion addressed the USC star quarterback most likely going to the Bears, stating it will affect his performance due to the cold weather of Chicago as it has previously with other players.

Deion said, via ProFootballTalk:

Like, I don’t want my kid [Shedeur] going nowhere cold next year. He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson, played in Colorado. Season’s over before it gets cold in Colorado. I’m just thinking way ahead. I don’t want that for him.

Fan reaction to Deion Sanders’ not letting his son, Shedeur play in cold

When Manning decided not to play for the Chargers, it was Archie Manning who handled everything along with the heat of the situation. Taking an example from that, Deion may also shield his son from the cold weather if any such team decides to draft him. But at the same time, half of the league carries such weather and Deion cannot cancel all prospects for his son.

Although Deion was speaking from his experience and as a protective father, fans didn’t seem to like his words. One fan wrote, “I don’t think he has a choice,” while another wrote, “How the hell he gonna stop the weather smh.” They urged him to let the young Sanders take this decision of which team he would prefer playing in. Fans called out the Colorado head coach for controlling the lives of his kids so much, while some also mocked his baseless condition. Here are some of the reactions:

As of now, Shedeur has been enjoying the fruits of his labor off the field as well. His YouTube channel, which has over 100k subscribers, shares insight into his exciting life. Safe to say, Shedeur is destined for big things.
