Dak Prescott currently stands with the second-best odds of +1800 to win the NFL MVP award this season.

Jeff Saturday hypes Cowboys’ Dak Prescott as the ‘No. 1 QB in NFC’ of this season over Brock Purdy

The 2023 regular season has come to an end, and Dak Prescott currently stands with the second-best odds of +1800 to win the prestigious NFL MVP award this season. While the Dallas Cowboys have clinched the playoff spots with an 11-5 season record and are set to win the NFC East title.

These stats haven’t come to them easily. The Cowboys have faced quite a handful of criticism for their poor road game record of 3-5, while 7-0 in home games. Quarterback Prescott, who was MVP’s favorite till week 14, faced a lot of criticism and was called a pretender. However, there is one person who didn’t lose the Cowboys’ side, Jeff Saturday, and he continues to support them.

In his recent appearance on ESPN’s ‘Get Up,’ Saturday called Prescott the best quarterback in the NFC, over San Francisco 49ers’ Brock Purdy. He praised how well the Cowboys quarterback has performed this season throughout.

Saturday said highlighting how incredible Prescott has played this season:

Dak Prescott is the best quarterback in the NFC...27 touchdowns and four interceptions in 11 games. This is not like it's a four-game..this dude, over 11 games is putting up those types of numbers. And by the way, they have played big games..he's still showing up. I'm not saying they are going to win them but he's doing more with less. He is having to adapt more because of his offensive line, than I would say, [Brock] Purdy. That's why I'd give him one right now.

Dak Prescott and Dallas Cowboys’ playoff struggles over the years

Dak Prescott’s playoff record with the Cowboys is 2-4. The two victories he has include the 2018 Wild Card Round game, where they defeated the Seattle Seahawks, and the 2022 Wild Card Round game, where they surprisingly beat off the legend Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The quarterback’s first playoff appearance was in 2016 which ended up in a loss in the Divisional Round round against the Green Bay Packers. A couple of years later, when they again reached that level, they suffered defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams.

The biggest challenge for the Cowboys in the playoffs has been the 49ers, as they lost both times they faced San Francisco over the last two seasons. This season also the Cowboys suffered a brutal loss against them. Supposedly, the third time could be a charm for them!
